Anyone else experiencing this?
If I reboot my phone it will work again but later will no longer ping from my watch.

Other functions are there and its communicating.

Thanks.

It consistently stops working for me now. I can reboot my phone and it will work again but not for long.

Rebooting my watch alone doesn't fix it.

All other functions still work including the camera. So strange.

If this function didn't work reliably for you, you should try unpair and re-pair the Watch instead of rebooting both.

I've done that now twice. Once with a new backup and once with an old backup.

I think it's phone related more than watch... Just a theory at this point.

Next I will set up the watch as new, but wow do I NOT want to do that!

Last night I had problem pinging my iPhone. This morning I unpaired and re-paired and it's working again.

This is a problem that has me hopeful that the new OS will be released sooner rather than later. i know it's trivial but this is one of my favorite watch features... I use it all the time. Or at least I used to.

Sooooo my watch doesn't work now. It worked after updating to iOS 9 days ago, but now it won't. It's paired but not communicating with iPhone. "Your Apple Watch could not reach the iPhone." Bluetooth is on. I've restarted both phone and watch, paired and unpaired them both. Nothing works.

I'm trying to update to the new watch iOS 2, can't do that because the watch keeps telling me it's not connected to my iPhone.

First time I ping mine it works, second it doesn't. It also prevents the Music app playing until the phone is rebooted. Submitted a bug report but not heard anything.

Your problem sounds bigger than this problem. All our phones are connected and talking to the watch, but just having an issue with Ping. Yours appears to be a general communication problem beyond just ping.

Updated to OS 2 and it's very intermittent for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and this is without having to first reboot.

Thanks fellow Texan. Sigh. This is really frustrating.

Me too.

Chatting with Apple help now. Seems to be a known issue.

If you ping your phone from the watch, the music player remote on the watch would stop all music playing function on the iPhone.

No doubt… very very frustrating. So much for "Apple: it just works".

Ditto. Upgrading doesn't seem to have fixed anything. At first, I thought it did as it worked more than it used to, but has now stopped again. How incredibly frustrating. How do I submit a bug to Apple?

Just go to support on the Apple homepage.

I talked with the apple advisors there. They told me to unpair the watch and set it up as new. I did all as instructed and the issues were not resolved.

I was redirected to a senior advisor where he set up a phone call.

When the phone call came, it was to set up a replacement. They will send me a new watch with OS1.01 on it.

The watch will take 72 hours to arrive. Apple is holding the cost of a new watch on my credit card, just in case I don't send the old one back or the watch is damaged, so they say.

When the new watch arrives, I shall have to check to see if all the issues are gone with OS1 and send Apple an email to confirm.

A bit of inconvenience, if you ask me.

I just have to wait now for my new watch to arrive.

bugreport.apple.com. I've saved you the trouble and filled one myself. Bug #22800437.

I'll let you know when and if they update, along with what they say.
