I like how everyone dogs on a color and insults someone else's taste just because you don't find the color attractive yourself. I guess everything should just be in black, white and silver because those are all the 'mature' colors then? I'm sure not everyone wants to be as drag as most of you and while I don't personally care for pink, I'm not going to insult someone else's tastes either.

Simple fact: colors sell phones rather well and pink is a very popular color, especially when released at the right time frame. Also, don't forget all the Color Red (cancer) products. How is a pink phone any different?

Also, to those saying Apple is marketing the product to the high end user, you might want to take a step back and rethink that statement because the bulk consumer for Apple's iPhone is not the high end consumer. In fact, it's quite the opposite. For the majority, the iPhone is their very first smartphone and around 50% of iPhone users don't even want the data plan = could care less about the smartphone features and mostly just want a "cool" product. After that, look at the most popular apps on the app store; they are anything but high end and most are fiddling time away with iFart and other non-useful applications and anything that costs more than $0.99 with the exception of something like BeeJive or IM Plus doesn't even sell.

Might want to get the stereotypical view of an iPhone customer out of your head and just take a look around. The high end consumer is and always will be the minority for any product because frankly, high end consumers rarely exist as it is.

I'll bet they would sell a bunch of them to the teenage set. Although I love pink, I wouldn't get one because it wouldn't be as easy to resell when the 3G xyz comes out (or whatever silly name they give it!)

In some other topics they are also talking about new colours (xmas).

No they are not.

On the previous thread, someone pointed out the SIM tray is still black. These are just modded iPhones.

Replacement third party cases don't have the memory and other such info printed on them though, do they?

(red) products are for aids, not cancer. Pink would
be breast cancer.

This pink iPhone will look nice with the Beatles Yellow Submarine iPhone that (never) came out.

And as for the other thread with the Vietnamese iPhones, the only thing that leads me to believe it may be legit is the number etchings in the screen, that is indicitive of a pretesting model iPhone. Yet, I still doubt it.

I wouldn't write it off, didn't a Vietnamese shop get a GSM Palm Pre a fair few months before release?

Some of them do but most of the text is misaligned or the font is wrong. I've changed a few iPhone 2G back (aluminum) casing and the '8GB' text is always different from the original cases.

I believe the Pink would be for Breast Cancer awareness and I'm sure Steve would give a portion of the proceeds to the foundation.

And to those of you that say pink is a terrible idea, its nice to see you care about others.

nice turn around

take one rumor stir the pot then call people who don't buy into the rumor scum! wait to see if this rumor pans out and see if Steve donates proceeds on the pink one before we start finger pointing. I am very sure Steve is sensitive about Cancer going though it himself. but maybe he donates directly too the cancer foundations rather then making a special product. I am still waiting to find out when Apple moved too Vietnam! ;)

I can't tell from the photo myself, but did the replacement cases you dealt with have the other text on them - the "Designed by Apple in California" and "Model No" stuff? I don't think third party ones do...

Sorta gets to my idea.

It would be thoughtful of Apple to put out a one-off iPhone that would be pink, like the Louisville Slugger bats that MLB players signed with them use for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

If they did that, I'd definitely by one, since I know a few people who have breast cancer and are fighting it.

BL.

If apple think it'll increase it's Market share they will do it. Look at the nano as an example it was released in black and White now it's avalible in lots and lots of colours.

A pink iphone will never become a reality while steve is in charge of apple end of.
