Pitaka MagCase for iPhone XS Max Too Snug

Mine was so tight the corner split. They are sending a new one right out, no problem.
I’m just suspecting it’s due to manufacturing variation and brand new product teething. Love the case and the fact that they responded so quickly.

Thanks for the reply! Sent them a message a few hours ago. Hoping a replacement will fit a little better!
I reached out to them from their website. It appears that they use Facebook for their online chat feature.

as you may know, that MagCase is probably the thinnest protective case in the market, it's made of 100% aramid material which decides the case to be hard, besides, we take good care of the case precision, enabling to fit your phone seamlessly. (within 0.03 mm deviation). However, the high-precision standard production of MagCase might also lead to subtle differences in the same model of different mobile phones.
Though we have known the specific size data of the new iPhones before Apple introduced the dimension of those iPhones, it was still difficult to avoid reasonable tolerances in any actual production process. Besides, it really depends on the person feels and only a few of the case have this feature.

Yes, funny thing is it fell off of a table on to my kitchen floor (which is tile).
They seem to have improved the mag case pro from all of the other reviews saying it is bulky. There is literally no bulk with this thing and it fits perfect so far and has no real front lip to mess up swiping. The old ones had a raised lip that made edge swiping hard. Fits my xs max perfect. If it wasnt for the corners, my edge to edge screen protector would fit.

How does it compare to the apple silicone case (grip and bulkiness)?
Did you get your replacement? I received the replacement and it did the same thing. time to return.. If they are this easy to split due then I have a hard time trusting it in day to day use especially at this price point. Im returning and getting the apple leather...
That being said Pitaka support has been really great, Its unfortunate they ran into this first batch issue,.
UPDATE: Pitaka support is amazing and took care of everything. Best support experience I have had in years!

No, we went back and forth with emails to no avail, Thankfully i purchased mine through Amazon and sent my case back today for a refund. For 50 dollars, i expect more... I have a Pitaka Mag Pro coming that i bought from their site. Hopefully this case is made better then the other one.

I’ve reached out to your team on Facebook last week but have not had a response. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to fit this tightly, but there is a tear in the corner of the case. I’ve sent a photo over Facebook but I’ll post here as well.
Seems like another user here had a similar issue. Any updates?

I’ve been having the same issue as joeybuckets. Been talking with them but was told this is normal and that the material is designed to stretch over time. The fact that it tore as soon as I put it on (albeit small) makes me feel like the tolerances are off.
I’ve reached out again and so I hope to hear back from them. If not I’ll return the case as well.

Please kindly be assured that we adjust a bit soon after we heard the feedback, every case has been tested on the real phone before it gets shipped out to ensure the compatibility of the phone size (except for other tests)
Having said that, any others have this problem, please feel free to reach out to our support team to ask for a replacement

Seriously impressed with Pitaka support, ordered the mag case for my Xs max and the fitment was off as per the pic above, contacted them through amazon UK and a few days later I have a new case, which is perfect.
I’m a convert I think I’ll be covering future iPhones with the cases as long as Pitaka keep making them! I actually prefer the feel of my phone with it on!
Looking forward to new colours released hopefully like what’s available for last years, red and black looks amazing, and considering the pro case, not like I perticulary need a case with that level of protection lol

I continue to be impressed with Pitaka. I have only had one minor issue and they solved it immediately with a replacement case.
I have since returned my Pitaka mag case and went with the Apple leather, but I will say that Pitaka support is VERY good, they respond right away and take care of their customers right.
I really wish they would come out with a "middle of the road" case basically the apple leather but in the Aramid material with a lil softness built in and a thin aramid soft finger strap for the back of the max that would rock.

I'm so in love with this case! The in hand feel is addictive, you don't want to put it down. It definitely won't protect a serious drop but the grip it provides should prevent drops from hand so if you're not clumsy with your device this case is defiently for you.
