@Sarah-PITAKA I was a bit disappointed to see a USC-C to USB-A cable included. From a video review I had seen, I thought it was going to be a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Am I supposed to receive thisC to USB-A cable? Will this cable support fast wireless charging?

Yes, the cable sent along with the MagMount Qi was a USB-A to C cable as many people reflected that their devices don't have the C port. But please be assured it actually supports fast wireless charging function but comes with different ends ;)

Ok thank you confirming. I will need to order a different car charger

Can you please confirm if the below car charger will work for fast wireless charging with the Magmount Qi?

You are welcome!

By the way, for your reference, the best companion to MagCase is MagMount (Qi) since it's made specially to work with the MagCase, The magnets inside the MagMount (Qi) are placed exactly in the position of the corresponding metal plates in the MagCase. so it's much easier for your phone to align automatically whilst being attached steady and safe on the MagMount (Qi). Check it out if you want.https://www.ipitaka.com/collections/magmount-qi?utm_source=Macrumors&utm_medium=taka

Anyways, thanks for your interest in PITAKA product!

Hello Sarah-PITAKA,

Are you able to please share the distance between the (bottom of the) top metal plate in the case, and the (top of the) bottom metal plate please? Of course the middle section allows for wireless charging, but what is the spacing here?

Thank you. My mount is a little different but I’m still thankful for the video and I’ll give it a try.
Hey Drag'nGT,

Did you manage to test this out?

I have a similar car mount to your Scosche magnet mount and also want to know whether it is compatible! Hope you had some success...

Will the Pitaka Qi vent mount charger work with other non Pitaka cases? Like a Mous case?

Hello! It depends. the non PITAKA case must meet the below requirements

1, it has metal plates embedded. 2. if it has the metal plates, the distance between 2 metal plates must be compatible with the MagMount Qi's magnets as well.

It seems the Mous case doesn't have metal plates embedded? so it's not compatible with the MagMount Qi. :(

In case anyone was interested in this, the response as follows:

Hello! the distance between the (bottom of the) top metal plate in the case, and the (top of the) bottom metal plate is 71.5mm, let me know if you have other questions :)

This means it becomes very challenging to use the Pitaka case with other/existing magnet mounts - such as the Scosche - because they have far smaller surface areas that contain the magnets... meaning only either the top metal component, or bottom metal component, of the Pitaka case, will attach to the mount.... but NOT both = not a secure or strong hold.

71.5mm is a huge gap.

:(

Does the pitaka qi charger’s light stay on when plugged into the car cigarette lighter even when the engine is off? I turned my car off and it seemed to stay on so I just unplugged it

But it includes the width of 2 metal plates (20mm) ;) please check the test we did before for Scosche

Hello! Normally the light will go off when you cut off the power in your car, only the engine off means your car still has power on. The light will stay on only when your car is not turned off completely.

Let me know if it's still the same result when you locked it off.:)

How is everyone still likening this setup? Do you feel it charged your phone faster?

This mount just doesn’t seem to work well with my vehicle. I have vertical vents and when I put the phone on the mount it just falls forward

Hi, can I know if it's the Scosche or MagMount Qi? Since it seldom happens on the MagMount Qi, please kindly advise. Thanks!

Ive had no problems with the Magcase and charger set - the only bit I didn't like was the open bottom. I would have preferred it to completely cover all chrome edges of the handset TBH....

Hello, sorry I didn't see your messages, will reply you there.

Well, 5 months of careful use has seen the case break!!

For such a 'premium' and expensive product, this is completed unexpected. Very difficult to recommend PITAKA based on our experience.

Sarah-PITAKA - what do you have to say about this, and for anyone contemplating your products?

5 months of careful use huh? Like how careful? Did that piece just fall off? Looks like it might have hit something, and a little scuff mark on the bottom too.

wait you so out of the blue a case breaks by itself ? come on now... no case is perfect, but blaming Pitaka for this is not called for !!!

I just took my case apart, and take that plastic lens cover off a lot of times when i clean my pitaka case, i really don't see how it would have chipped like this.
