2 iMacs here 0 dead or stuck pixels on either, just to help generik with his quest for the truth about dead pixels on Apple hardware.

Alright

Now to put those over exaggerated rumors of my Apple bashing to rest. If you are in the market and are deliberating between the 24" iMac and Mac Pro, for the love of God do consider the Mac Pro more ;)

As unintuitive as it sounds, that slightly more expensive computer really is a better value computer.

That was the #1 thing i was scared of the second i hit the Order button on Apple.com

However, when my built-to-order 24" iMac arrived from China in just 5 days after ordering (with ground shipping!) i took it out of the box and saw there were absolutely no dead pixels.

that's 2,304,000 perfect pixels on my screen. :D

Hey man, unless you have a spare monitor floating around, what are you going to do if you need to replace your monitor? You'll be in the same boat as we are. Integrated screen or not.
It's true that people with separate screens (rather than integrated) will also be unable to use their computers if they had to send them back for repair or replacement. The difference is that people with separate monitors don't have to send away their hard drives containing their private data on them to the manufacturer. If Apple decide to replace an iMac, will they take out the old hard drive and place it in the replacement computer? I don't know if they would...

So there's no 'same boat' really, is there?
