How is it unintuitive? The UI is pretty much inline with typical professional Mac Apps. I use it all the time with my Web Design work.Shame it's such an unintuitive application. It's not good for anything but meme making.
Excellent PSD support, both opening and exporting. No issues.PSD file support?
I'm always slightly happier with my edits in Lightroom which I why I still pay for it. I'll edit the same photo in both but there's always something about the Pixelmator version that feels a bit off, makes Lightroom worth the cost for me. Pixelmator has really limited distortion correction for example, which when you shoot a lot of wide angle stuff gets really annoying.I don't know why anyone would buy into Adobe when Pixelmator exists.
(Provided you don't need the rest of Adobe's ecosystem, of course.)
Are the older versions still available for download? I have a couple of older machines that have High Sierra, would love to use this.Yes, it is basically Photoshop.
Mojave / 10.14 is the oldest supported version, but there are older versions for <10.13
Yes, but only newer versions have features like ML Resolution and ML Crop. Are the older versions still available for download? I have a couple of older machines that have High Sierra, would love to use this.
does anybody have a good assessment of Affinity Photo Vs Pixelmator Pro.
I already have Affinity Photo but I hardly use it because it feels rather complex.
Most frequent desired use case - quickly enhancing some people photos, changing subject lighting etc. As of now, I often forgo making these edits because it I fear the time it will take.
Would that be easier on Pixelmator pro?
Any other comparative pointers or link to an article that compares the two would be great.
Thank you!

Pixelmator Pro provides the best all-in-one solution. However, its Pro is like iPhone and iPad’s— innovative, advanced and user-friendly, but not professional enough.does anybody have a good assessment of Affinity Photo Vs Pixelmator Pro.

Im not justifying their decision to not update the interface..but using keyboard shortcuts is much faster than looking for a button or searching a menu. if you already taking time to remember the location, why not just remember the shortcut?Monitor resolutions are constantly increasing. However, Pixelmator continues to use tiny, microscopic icons and text in the toolbars and tool palettes. Instead of distinguishing icons by sight, I have to resort to remembering them by position. The numerical displays for coordinates, zoom level, RGB values in the main window, and slider values in tool palettes are also microscopic. The tiny text and icons make Pixelmator frustrating to use on high resolution monitors. BBEdit is just as bad, so it’s not just graphic design applications that do this. After multiple emails to BBEdit and Pixelmator, there is still no change. Why do so many of these “professional” applications like to use tiny, microscopic icons and text in toolbars and tool palettes? And why do the developers of these applications continually refuse to update their interfaces to work better with high resolution monitors?
I tried Pixelmator. It might not have as many features or customization options, but it has all the ones I ever use, they are more intuitive and the selection tools are very impressive.
command + RI'm not getting the update for some reason. I've even restarted my Mac but its not showing up as an update in the App Store. I'm on version 2.2.
Go to the App page in the App Store. After a few seconds it should show the update button.I'm not getting the update for some reason. I've even restarted my Mac but its not showing up as an update in the App Store. I'm on version 2.2.
I think its intended for use with photgraphs which typically have a foreground and background and slight depth of field differences. Even when used with photos its not perfect every time..but it has suprised me in a lot of cases. Cleaning up the results it does get isnt too bad either in my case.
I'm not doubting what you say, but could you post some examples to better show what you're describing?I'm always slightly happier with my edits in Lightroom which I why I still pay for it.
