Definitely prefer the Chicago styles (Deep Dish rules!) but I can certainly appreciate the taste of a good NY style pizza.

Neapolitan or NY style for me.

Yum!

Either way that is not a pizza!

This is how I like mine…

Now I'm hungry… :D

I agree. I like thin crust best, none of that doughy mush for me, but what I like best of all is a traditional pizza; one with lots of tomato sauce, olives, pepperoni and a few veggies and VERY, VERY little cheese. There's nothing worse than an artery and intestinal clogging pizza.

Thin crust, every time, known as the Italian at the Pizza Hut in the UK. Cheese, red onions and mushrooms. One individual size is as much as I can eat so don't think I could eat a deep one. Anyway, you don't get much topping for the amount of dough on a deep one.

St. Louis Style > *
Imo's Pizza FTW!

Seriously, if you ever drive through St. Louis on the way to a better city (because lets face it, no one actually willingly comes to St. Louis) stop by an Imos. There are a million of them around here.

Although I'll eat any style of pizza :D

And someone should also call the people in St. Louis and tell them that they have a St. Louis version of pizza. I don't think they're currently aware of that.
People here never really call it [city] style. Deep dish means Chicago, thick means NY, thin means STL, so on. If you walked into a pizza joint and said "I'd like a large Chicago style pizza with pepperoni" they'd look at you like "WTF?"

I'll refuse to eat that Chicago stuff. It's not real, IMO.
It's either New york pizza or thin crust. (Oh, or New Jersey pizza. New Jersey has good pizza)
In my town there are about 4 or 5 different pizza places. Maybe more that I'm missing. It's absurd, but you always get a choice.
It has to be able to pass the "fold test" to be real pizza. :p

Thin. I prefer real Italian pizza, the crust is just so much better and there is barely any grease. Best pizza I ever had was at some small restaurant in Florence, although the place in Venice was almost as good.

In America my favorite pizza is from Buca di Beppo, closests I could find to real Italian but still not as good.

I find that 'real' pizza and american style pizza are almost like two different dishes and both have their merits.

Italian, stone baked pizza that comes fresh from an oven in Napoli is incredible and fresh. It's thin, crispy and light but packed full of flavours of tomatoes, mozzarella and olive oil.

American, it doesn't matter if it's deep, thin or chicago style pizza pie... they are really different. Sometimes only an american style pizza will do, packed full of fatty meats and cheese, onion, peppers and a variety of tasty badness, a few slices and your full.... for 3 minutes. Then you can eat more.

It depends. I like the deep dish style if I am ordering for a party or gathering and then I load it up with toppings.

Mostly, though, I prefer thin crust pizza. Recently, I've been heading over to Waldy's Pizza which has some absolutely fantastic thin-crust pizza at a great price. My favorite is their pizza with lamb slices on it -- they even have a small herb garden where customers can cut their own fresh basil, sage, and other herbs off the plants to their liking. Mmmm! Perfect at work.

You're all wrong. Best pizza (in the US, anyway) is Pizzeria Blanco (Neopolitan style) in Phoenix. Not my opinion either, but of folks whose job it is to make those kinds of decisions. Multiple professional reviewing sources say as much. Who am I to argue with experts?

One of these days I'll find out for myself, when the line is less than two hours long--and that's midweek, midsummer.

I was just in Chicago and ate at Giordano's and I didn't like their pizza, neither kind. I think the crust has a lot of shortening or oil in it. Too bad since thats my last name! None of these chain's are very good. But the best pizza in the world is at MY Restaurant. Its like New York style and/or Neapolitan (my father was born there.) :D

An employee did the website (badly.) I'm a composer not a web designer...

I don't know Chicago, NY, St. Louis, etc. I know pan, normal, and thin crust, and I like pan pizzas and thin crust. I don't like it to be too crispy.

I love how there's so many American style pizzas. I wonder which style the Italians prefer? They're probably crying right now.
