Thank God!! I've started to believing what @i0n1c said.
My hopes are back.
Thanks for the post, just made my day![]()
Is anyone really surprised by this?
This is how it's always worked. The hackers find the exploits and release the jailbreaks upon major releases of iOS. They've always had a general policy of avoiding wasting their exploits on .x releases of iOS because they know Apple will close the exploits in the next major release and waste their hard work.
All this crap about jailbreaking being over is just scaremongering and FUD. Of course it isn't over, nothing is 100% secure after all.
let's hope all is true
But will it work on the ATV3?![]()
Time will tell/ Even the more open OS android platform is closed for google tv. they are just beginning to crack that. though we have been able to side load apps at least.![]()
Don't want be the bearer of bad news but this news doesn't mean anything is being released. He says that they have a jailbreak method he is saving to find other methods for future jailbreaks. If they use this then apple is sure to close it in the future.
"The reasons its not released are because 1. releasing it would burn an exploit we want to save for ourselves so we can always get in to look at new firmware and help JB in the future"
Although I hope I am wrong...
Yes, but he also says part of the jb gets compromised w/ the newer fw if I remember correctly. So he would release it before it gets burned.
. releasing it would burn an exploit we want to save for ourselves so we can always get in to look at new firmware and help JB in the future,
loling @ all the nay sayers on here the last few days.
yepp people just were spoiled with pod2g updating us on the status so much last year..when they hear the typical silence this year.. they flipped ****.
Not for nothing, but I think that in one tweet, planet being just killed all of i0n1c's credibility in the jailbreak community. Nobody will believe a damn thing he says now.
BL.
I had the same thought.
Where are all the thread starters of the "There will never be an iOS6 jailbreak" and all those who posted agreeing with them.
I don't think people thought there wouldnt be one, just that it would be a longer...we had one last year at this time-ish for the 4s...perhaps pod2g did spoil us, though there was one post by a jailbreaker that said 6.1 was going to be harder to jailbreak.
Glad we finally have some news!
While we did have one around this time for A5 based devices last year, the 4S also dropped a month later than the 5 ... so if we're keeping track of time, we realistically should have seen the 5 jailbreak drop in December. That said, the wait time for an A6 and iPhone 5 jailbreak is looking to be about at least, at a minimum, 1-2 months longer than last years.
I fear it won't be long before we have to start waiting almost a year for newer hardware/iOS products.
