I didn't see the point of a case at first, but after a month -- I need one. I have long arms, and I tend to bump into stuff. So my watched is in more danger than my phone.

I've been wearing my 42 mm Space Gray Sport every day for almost a month now and it's still in 100% brand new condition. No scratches, no dents, etc. No case or anything silly like that. I don't particularly "baby" it but I'm not reckless with it either.

you should get a case for your shoes too as its always hitting the ground, way more than your watch or phone

What? lol
the show comment was from one of the apple presentations while Tim was on stage :p

Proof?

"Apparently speaking to employees at an Apple Store in Berlin, Cook is rumored to have said that he wears his Apple Watch everywhere, "even in the shower," according to iGen.fr."

"French site iGen is reporting that Tim Cook told an employee in the Kurfürstendamm Apple Store in Berlin that he wears his Apple Watch all the time–”even in the shower.” While Apple has previously mentioned water-resistance, and stated that the S1 innards are “completely encapsulated in resin,” this is the first time we’ve had a specific indication on what that means in practice."

just check the last apple presentation
i dont care enough to find it so w/e if you dont find it haha :p

I got the Thin Fit case from Spigen. Its has a surprisingly small profile so it looks and feels like there is noting attached. It has a slight raised lip around the screen so it helps protect the surface from contacting things that may scratch the glass. I do not have a screen cover.

If you need a case for yor watch you probably should have bought a sport or an android watch. When I'm doing something that might put the watch in danger is simply take it off or put my sleeve over it. Big deal.

Any of you take shower with it? I need this watch to be water proof. That is the only thing holding me back

If Consumer reports testing is any indication you should be more than fine showering with it on. The whole video is worth a watch (no pun intended) but the water test starts at about 2:44:

There are numerous other tests online where it shows that the watch seems to be much more water resistant than the rating shows.

This makes no sense. Shoes are meant to touch the ground. I understand what you're trying to do, but you picked a terrible example. A watch isn't meant to touch the ground.

No plans to baby. Upgrade every year so off to CL it will go. Bought SS so good luck getting it banged up. Credit card automatically double warranty so I'll pocket the difference saved on expensive Applecare+ ($69+$79 claim)...

I've decided to put a case on my wedding band. Don't want to scratch it.

I don't get it. I just don't.

Care and Feeding . . .

I'll treat exactly like I've always treated my watches.
No special treatment needed. I'm always careful with my devices, watches and jewelry. And have never lost or damaged a device or watch. The worse was a missing earring that fell out of my ear.

I have no issue getting a screen protector for my ion x screen. I'm a mailman so it could brush against brick, a mail box, or anything really even though I wear it on my left wrist and its more likely to occur on my right. When the protector wears off I probably won't replace it. I just want it looking nice for the first few months anyway. I did purchase apple care but that was mainly my worries with how long (months) the battery will last.

Pretty much the same but I got a screen protector shortly after launch. I can understand screen protectors for the Sport, but cases for any of the Watches just sounds really redundant. Its a Watch, its supposed to get banged around. The only reason the Sport gets a pass on the protector is because its just glass and not Sapphire Crystal.

FWIW, I also duck my wrist behind my back when I go through a doorway. I have just gotten used to doing this, but my Watch's body is completely immaculate.

And here I thought I was the only one doing this! It's become a habit, too, because I caught myself doing it when I wasn't wearing my watch!
