I must say...

That is the best photo of the Apple watch on someone's wrist that has been posted on this site to date. A perfect fit. Apple should use you as a model.

I am so happy about that photo for several reasons...

First, it appears you are wearing my watch. I ordered the 42mm SS will Milanese loop.

Second, your wrist circumference is the same as mine. My wrist is 6.5 inches round which is equal to 167mm. So, my watch will look as good on me as it does on you.

Thanks for taking the time to post that photo.

Small world - I was in the Edinburgh store yesterday as well. Almost completely deserted (well it was 11am on a Wednesday) and the staff practically begged me to have a try on appointment then and there (there were five or six of them crowded around the table looking awkward with nothing to do).

I have to say, having tried both sizes on, there's a lot of hilariously over the top posts on this board about "girls' watches" and so on. For me (wrist circumference 168mm, 60mm width looking straight on at the wrist) the 42 just looks too big. I think the reason people are reacting favourably to the OPs photo is because of the three-quarter angle showing the strap round the side of the wrist. Face on, you wouldn't see that - only the watch face itself. If that's the style people want to go for that's fine, but for me the 38mm was noticeably a more discreet fit and much more like the watches I have worn in the past.

I haven't preordered one - probably going to wait for the first wave of orders to arrive and get some real world reviews to see all the shortcomings. I also think I'll wait till third party straps (or adapters) come out: the leather straps were really not very good quality as far as I could tell, and certainly not £150+ quality.

Thanks for posting this. My wrist is about 62mm in width and I've preordered 2 38mm watches but it seems everyone with wrists smaller than mine say the 42mm is the perfect fit. I've began getting a little worried about my choice but every image I see of a 42mm watch rarely looks like a good fit. I agree with your taste in watches. I prefer something a little more discrete. Damn the majority!

The 38mm is tiny. There will be lots of people getting very tiny watches come delivery day. I am a small woman and debating returning my 38mm. I am going to wear it a few days to make sure. Since I don't know if I want to wait months or not. But wish I would have ordered bigger.

+1 looks good.
Im in similarly situatin with 42ss sport band.
38 looks tiny...

It was a solid confirmation to see it in person that 42 is perfect for me. (170 wrist).
The watch was gorgeous.
Too bad I didn't have too much time playing with the software/interface.
