i hope all these people griping about the iPhone x don’t buy it.leaves more units for me to get my hands on one at launch time. Thoughts. Any new news on production

You can have an iPhone X right now if you really want. No need to wait. Just take a dump on the top portion of your iPhone screen.

Can't say yet if I will or will not buy. For the first time I'm glad I'm in the 2nd wave release country so there will be plenty test bunnies to report back and make it possible to decide if *gate is worth gambling on.

I thought I read on this forum somewhere that they're not doing a release in waves this time. They are just going to open the store at a set time and whatever time zone you're in, you'd better be there ready to order whether you're fully awake or have to pee or walk the dog or perform brain surgery or whatever. I thought that's why everyone was sweating Ming Chi Kuo's production prognostications. (Please don't ask me to say that ten times real fast )

Anyway, sorry to disappoint the OP, but I will be a part of the preorder madness-- for my husband. He wants a black iPhone X. I had wanted a white one. I'm not getting one though. So we will both try to preorder the black one for him and whichever of our orders gets the best shipping date will remain and the other will be cancelled once we are sure the dates are locked down. Someday, when they're readily available in stores and I can get an unlocked one, I might get that white X. Or the 8 Plus. Or not. Whatever. I'm enjoying the peaceful feeling of not caring anymore about any of it and enjoying my AR pet dragon on my 7 Plus.

I hate to break it to you, but most of the people hating on the X are still going to buy it. They will buy it even though they hate the notch. They will buy it even though they think animoji are silly. They will buy it even though they are appalled at the price, and they will buy it even if they hate the thought of replacing TouchID with FaceID. After a few weeks they will stop noticing the notch, FaceID will probably work far better than they expected... even better than TouchID (or not and we will get to enjoy FaceID-gate threads), and they will marvel at the display quality, speed, and camera performance. Eventually they will forget how much they paid, and will just open their wallets again a year or two later when the next X comes out.

Yup, I will be one of those suckers and I don't think I will regret it.

I was so excited for the announcement and was ready to pre-order as soon as I could. But now I’m pretty sure I’m waiting until next year. My 7+ will be paid off in February and it works perfectly. I am not thrilled with the skinny rounded corners of the X so maybe if the rumors are true, a choice of sizes will be cool. So, I think I’m going to enjoy most of 2018 without phone payments. .. there’s one less X being order for you. ... I think

I hate to break this to you, but I’m not getting this model, but will wait untill next model, and waiting for you guinea pigs to work out the kinks if there is any. Next year, I hope they will have a larger display for those of us that want it, so for us who think like me it’s a win-win situation. Waiting for the larger iPhone 10S, and fixes.

I bought the iPhone 8 Plus, thinking that that X was a little too beta for me and was probably a test run for next year. However, I plan to try out the X anyway, since I have a 14-day return window.

I just got a iPhone 7 Plus and I find it much better then this years iPhones my 7 pulse has a 3,000ma battery why the new iPhones has a smaller battery no thanks I will wait in tell next year iPhones too come out with the A12 and other cool stuff in tell then am keeping my 7 plush in tell it blows up on me

So no iPhone 8 plus or iPhone X for me this year
