I went to the smaller size and regretted it after a few months. I tried to justify it but I was wrong. Back on the plus model now.

Same here. Got the 7 in November and ended up going with the 7 plus today. The 7 has a nice feel in the hand but that's about it. Enjoy consuming content and using the plus more.

Only plus edition for me, I won't use any phone below Full HD as I am very picky on screen quality. Also plus having a great battery life, better camera, it is so slim and I don't have issue put inside pocket, I often seen people complain cannot fit in pocket. I don't have problem and can comfortable put inside my jeans, for casual pants never have any issue at all.

Beside I prefer use two hand, so single hand is nothing need for me.

In short I prefer screen size of at least 5.5" to 6" phone.

I am so glad this is a request for opinions. Here is mine:

You should not have sold your 6s with out a solid plan of which phone you wanted to replace it with. It may cost you a lot of money on truly lack luster choices. Now that I got that out of my system. Here is my experience which maybe worth more than my opinion:

I am currently using the 6S plus and the 7. I gravitate more toward the 7 based on size alone. The Plus has become annoyingly heavy and uncomfortable to finger reach. When I am going to watch Netflix I automatically reach for the Plus size but again if I am trying to hold it to watch shows it really starts hurting. In fairness, I didn't really notice how heavy it was until I got the 7 but I did always try to rest it on something instead of holding it. Clearly the performance is better on the 7 but not so much that it is worth forking out ~$700

My plan moving forward is to keep the smaller version and get a tablet for the heavy lifting. I will do like you and seek opinions first.

Have you considered getting an 6SE (i really do like the specs on this for it price point) on ebay to hold you over until the 8 pops? I mean since you sold your 6s and all :) Cheers

Everyone keeps talking about the 8 coming out next. I'm not convinced the next model will be called the 8 instead of 7S as they have done historically. Sure, people keep talking about how the screen will change to OLED and be edge to edge which could constitute the need to change the number to 8. But is Apple really going to do that? Don't be disappointed if they don't.

I'd say if you are truly comfortable with the current 6 plus model the size difference will be minimal so transition to 7 plus will be fine. You might find you could regret the standard 7 but why not try it out first.

I going to be acquiring my wife's 5S till my upgrade later in the year. I've a Samsung S6 currently and I'm worried about the drop in size returning to a 4 inch screen.. at least the plus to standard isn't as drastic as what I'll be doing!!

I'm with you, I'll believe it when I see it. I always feel a bit disappointed with the S releases, it's like they're trying to milk the customers for all they're worth.

To answer OP's question: 7 Plus. Once you get used to the big screen you won't want to go back. The hardware upgrades are a nice bonus as well.

I personally don't care what they call it but it will need to be ground breaking. There are some decent pieces of equipment out there that, except for the rock solid IOS, is giving the Iphone a run for its money. Namely, the Pixel and Galaxy S7 (note that I didn't even mention Galaxy S8 and the rumored Pixel 2). I respect that this is an Apple forum but if apple doesn't do something remarkable than I believe November and December will be very interesting this year.

Thank you everyone for your opinions and thoughts.

I also do want to consider the fact...what if the 8 doesn't come out and would be a 7S change...then I would just keep the 7/7 plus cuz the S upgrades aren't usually that much of a change.

With tax over here, the 7 is about $820 and the 7+ is about $950...I don't want to go through the process of selling the phone and buying another. For some reason I can't qualify for Upgrade Program.

Any other opinions?

It really depends on how you mostly use the phone. I don't make or receive many phone calls, but I do read news reports, watch videos, call Uber and Lyft cabs, and play games on my iPhone 7+. Obviously, the large phone is superior for these functions.

I was in this same situation when 7 came out. I ended up going with the 7+ for larger screen size/ease of viewing, and knowing the larger phone would do more to prevent me from playing with my phone while driving, which it does. I used to drive with my iPhone 5s in my hand with one hand on the steering wheel. With the PLUS, It just kind of sits there and I'll tap on it when I need it.

I thought the large size was going to be very inconvenient but some habits like always having my phone in my pocket changed to having my phone in my hand most of the time while I'm out, its not an insane change to lifestyle I'm not finding myself complaining about it. I also have a long wallet so my left hand is always carrying phone and wallet, which are about the same length and size.

I traded "down" from the 6S+ to the 7. I'd had the plus size for about 18 months (I had a 6+) and I was fed up with the size and weight.

The 7 is a stunningly beautiful thing in my view. I have the matte black. It goes beautifully with my Space Black Apple Watch.

I don't miss the 6S+ at all. The 7 feels virtually weightless and fits really comfortably in pockets. I'm perfectly happy with the screen (which is fantastic) and I don't care about extra camera features or whatever else the 7+ offers.

Also, it was much cheaper, as I bought the 32GB version. I'm currently using 19GB of storage with 8GB available. Everything is in the cloud.

The smaller screen isn't much of an issue as I don't use it that much -- at home I have all kinds of MacBooks and iMacs and iPads and away from home I'm either on the move and just glancing at things, or I've got some other Apple device with me.

Hello everyone,

I want to start off by saying that I know the final decision is up to me and it is all preference base...but I would like some feedback and any thoughts in helping me decide finally between the 7 and 7 plus. I have been trying both phones for a week now and its time for me to return it.

Background:
- I have used the 6 plus for the past 2 years and honestly whichever phone I choose I'm probably going to keep it until the next iPhone 8 will come out this upcoming September
- I have large hands lol but I'm cool with either or.
- I use the phones for email, internet browsing, social media, texting...thats pretty much it. Don't game. Don't watch movies...maybe the occasional youtube. Listen to music....
- I use it for the gym

I listed the pros and cons of each:

iPhone 7
PROS
- Lighter weight, can fit into the pocket easier
- One handed usage
- Good enough camera, I take basic photos and don't really use video...only for Instagram (I found myself not really using the 7+ dual camera and portrait mode)
- Its something different...kinda got bored of the 6 plus

CONS
- Smaller battery....I have a mophie mobile battery to use
- Lesser screen quality 720p...I can't tell the difference too much. Its apparent when you put the phones side by side but I've gotten used to the 7 screen quality

iPhone 7 plus
PROS
- Bigger and better screen 1080p....I don't find myself watching videos too much. I am used to the bigger screen
- Better camera....I haven't used the dual camera at all and the portrait mode very rarelyyy
- Better battery...I find myself coming back home after work with 30-40% battery left

CONS
- Its big....its awkward putting it into the pockets....front or back
- Its $130 more....the money isn't a main thing but it would help if I can save
- Bored of the plus size...want to change it up

It seems like I am leaning towards the 7, but I do feel like I am missing out on the plus size phones cuz everywhere I go I see most people have the + iPhones...

If you could leave your thoughts and what you think I should do if you were in my situation. Let me know.

Thanks for reading.

I would say get iphone 7 if u r going to update in september of this year .. it does everything iphone 7 plus do tbh battery easily lasts whole day and small form factor is a big deal nowadays ... but if u r going to keep it for 2 years then get plus one instead..

after a long time of thinking about it...i have decided to go with the 7 PLUS! Thank you everyone

How did you get rid of your 7? I'm trying to make the same switch but am afraid of selling online (had several bad experiences) and am worried about losing several hundred dollars by trying to do a trade-in. Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't sell my 7...I was still in the 14 day return period of the Apple Store and I got my money back. I've sold multiple phones on Craigslist. That's the best spot for getting beat value in person.

The best place to sell/buy is on SWAPPA. I have made several transactions there and every one was perfect.

I switched back and forth 7 times on the iPhone 7 series and ended Up with the regular 7 again. As much as the Plus has better specs along with a bigger display, I just can't seem to sacrifice the smaller form factor.
