I paid $799 for my 128 Pro, so $50 more than the like 9.7" model. I'll gladly pay $50 for 3" of screen real estate. I don't take pictures with my iPad, so the upgraded camera, while nice aren't a deal breaker.
next year, (or in 6 months the way it's been going) the 12.9 will get OLED or something and the 9.7 Pro buyers will be pissed. then the next 9.7 release will piss off the 12.9 OLED buyers again. and so it goes, Apple leapfrogging over our heads, all the way to the bank.
Actually they are laughing all the way to the bank with the iPhone SE. They are re-using the EXACT SAME DISPLAY from 2013. Not to forget it's a paltry 640p screen that doesn't even come close to the iPhone 6!
Chop off MIMO wireless AC, remove camera OIS, remove HDR in videos, and keep 1st gen fingerprint sensor. But seriously, 640p 4" display in 2016 with 16GB memory for $400. No thanks. They are indeed laughing all the way to the bank!
Sorry but this is NOT the iPad 3 scenario all over again. 9.7 is not equal to 12.9. The only room for a reasonable complaint is the inclusion of a 256GB option for the 12.9 model.
Agreed. I bought my wife and I each an IPP about 1.5 to 2 months ago. The only thing I am a little disappointed in is the 256GB option. I definitely would have purchased the higher memory if it was an option. Other than that, I'm good. I could care less about the camera stuff because I'm not gonna hold up a 13inch iPad to take a picture or video. I have an iPhone and a DSLR for that.
