why did you sell it and not get it replaced then? the regular 7 is great. the plus is good if you like battery life and a better camera.

iPad is a tablet, and as such subject to a completely different set of user requirements and UI parameters to a smartphone.

Exactly, and phablet users have their own requirements too, but somehow they become "special needs and disabilities".

Well if you plan to use a case the Plus will be even bigger.
it all depends on if you can handle the size and weight.
I had the 6 Plus and switched to the 4.7 due to weight and overall size. I liked it for a while but eventually it become too cumbersome.

Once apple shrinks the bezels I will be back with the Plus.

The iPhone 7 is the real iPhone, and the real iPhone experience more importantly. Look at the usage of the big screen on the Plus and this is obvious - the UI doesn't take advantage of the extra pixels whatsoever, except for the lame and useless landscape mode which adds absolutely zero in most apps.

The plus is an afterthought, with the gimmick of a dual camera and fake DOF mode.

Keep the 7, enjoy the iPhone as it's meant to be.

I thought my 7 plus was a real iphone?:D

an afterthought? no. sorry if you think it was, and the "fake DOF" is not fake, its software based. you want real dof, sure. buy a canon 5d3 or a new mark 4 and a 50mm F1.2. you'll spend a good 5 grand on that if you really want pictures with a shallow dof.

I've always been a 4.7" iPhone user and been ok with it until I got my hands on a 7 Plus about 10 days ago. I'm really enjoying the larger screen size when it comes watching videos and playing games. The only time I struggle with the size is when it's in my pockets. I used to leave it in my pockets in the car or when I sit down but now I have to remove it other wise it really sticks out and can be uncomfortable.

I have a few more days to decide if I am going to keep it- I'm tempted to go back to the smaller screen but I think I would miss it for sure.

The Iphone Plus is probably the smartphone with the worst space optimization.

It's ridiculous, my old 2014 Oneplus One costs 299€ and has a 5.5' screen and it's way smaller than the 7plus

Well I pulled the trigger this morning, I gave the iPhone 7 Plus a solid 13 days and in the end I went back to the 4.7" iPhone 7. It feels tiny but I'm glad I did it.

I had a 6 then a 6+ then went to a 6S and missed the size and battery life of the Plus so this time I went for the 7 Plus in matte. Best iPhone I've ever had.

Couldn't go back to a regular size now - feels dinky and the battery never lasted me past 4pm.

At the end of the day it's your decision of what you purchase and use. Do what feels right for you.

I expected to get way better battery life with the 7 Plus than I did on the 7 and I didn't at all. I maybe gained an hour but I feel like I lost more than that in the time it took to charge the 7 Plus when compared to the regular 7.

How much longer did the Plus take to charge?
I only use ipad chargers to charge so it takes way faster than the normal iphone plug.

I never timed it but it was substantial. The other thing I didn't like was there's no such thing as a quick 15-20 minute top off with the Plus and the charger they provide. We're talking like 3-4%, if that.

Yes, with the ipad charger a quick 15-20 charge will give you 30-35% more easy.
You should look into it.
The bigger the battery the longer it will last and slower it will charge with the stock plug. But with the bigger ipad charger you dont have to worry about it.

The plus is better.
Don't keep the regular 7 :D

Have to agree. The size of the regular 7 is better, but the screen size is not. LOL.

There's no perfect iPhone. They're both too big. Since they're both too big, get the advantage of big with the Plus.

I had both at release. I kept the plus. Wish I had kept the 7.

Go easy on yourself. It's not a clear-cut call.

I know what you mean. My wife, whom I recently married, is 5'7" like my last one. She feels "old". I'm thinking of upgrading to a taller new one.

Way smarter not to get married, ever. But since you're in, get a postnup.

This is definitely a situation where you yourself should decide on either the 4.7" or the Plus.

The only reason I stay with the 4.7" is because the Plus is too big for me with everyday use. For me personally, the 4.7" is the better daily device.

If you're okay with the size of the Plus, then yes, it has advantage. For me it was the battery but the 4.7" iPhone 7 gets me through an entire day easy on one charge so it doesn't really matter.

3GB of RAM is nice but I wouldn't call it a "Pro" if you plan on getting the next phone in 11 months. iOS isn't a memory hog. I couldn't find a noticeable difference going from the Air2 to the 12.9" Pro and then the 12.9" Pro to the 9.7" one.

The 7 because the 7 is a phone the 7 plus is a tablet :p

Seriously though is they reduced the size of the bezels on the plus but kept the screen the same size I'd be tempted because the extra screen size is beneficial

Same here

Idk any more guys...Overall my daily experience on the 4.7 is much better but when it comes to media consumption, video+ pictures editing, the Plus is better due to the larger screen. I'm gonna give the Plus another try when it arrives...

Can totally sympathise with the OP on this one.

I debated whether to get 7/7+, and in the end I opted for the 7. Pre-ordered and got it on release day.

It's genuinely a great phone, but even within the first week I knew I had made a mistake and should have got the 7+. The first chance I'd had to see or handle a 7+ (or 6S+ for that matter) was when I was in store collecting my 7. If there had been any 7+ available, I'd have been going home with one instead.

I watched the 7+ stock in my local store religiously for the 14 day return period, and if a suitable 7+ had popped up, I'd promised myself I was swapping. Obviously with the shortages this year, that never happened.

End result is that I still have the 7, and although I love it, I've already found myself looking at trade in prices. It's too much of a financial hit to trade up now though, and I guess I'm just going to have to wait until next year now.

And before anybody jumps in with "It's your own fault for being so impatient", or "you should have just returned the 7 and waited for a 7+",yes, I totally agree.

However, I have to say I do still feel a bit cheated that I haven't been able to resolve things to my satisfaction due to the shortages this year.

I swapped my jetblack 7 Plus for a regular 7. Simply to big and heavy with those bezels. I have a feeling (see the rumours out there on the net) that next iPhone model will shrink the bezels and lower the weight, then a Plus model will be a instant buy.

Keep the Plus, size is not a matter after a while and once you enjoy big screen size then you will know how great big screen size than small.

Totally agree if they shrink the bezels down I'll be considering the plus next time I upgrade.

I was playing around with one at work and it was just a tiny bit too bulky for me for day to day use after trying it in my trouser pockets etc.. but thought if they just reduced those bezels and made it more edge to edge screen wise it would be fine. I did really like the extra screen size though!

Yeah I think the Plus is a very clumsy device. It's way too big and heavy. I do like the screen a lot but on a daily basis, my experience with the regular one is much more enjoyable except for pictures + videos. It's very likely they're gonna shrink down the size of the Plus next year, if so the Plus wins hands down. But this year I think I'll stick with the regular 7.
