In the Plex forums I think @Elan said that you may need to upgrade the Plex server manually as the NAS hardware updates tend to be slow. Only the latest Plex server can communicate with the ATV4.

At the moment both the Plex server server + ATV4 client is free. You need to buy the ATV4 though.

I'd be more attentive to the network bandwidth. Is it a plugged ethernet cable between the two devices, or wifi?

Watched a few things through Plex last night and everything worked as usual. My previous setup is usually use my 2013 LG TV, but I like how the ATV4 will show the last 5 if you put Plex on the top and enable shelf.

How do I go about doing this?

On PC I used tsMuxeR but now I'm using Mac I find MakeMKV is a close alternative.

Btw, Plex official announcement is here. They seem pretty excited, ain't they?
There truly isn’t any other platform we’ve wanted to be on for as long as we have the Apple TV. Today’s the day, and we’re celebrating.

Plex on the new Apple TV!

Is there a way to get the app despite not owning an ATV4 yet? I'm afraid it's going to stop being free before I get one.

Kodi is terrible and looks gross.

Plex is for people that want their library to look good. Kodi is like MS-Dos. Bleh.

Agreed. Kodi is disgusting. 2005 bubbly UIs need to die off already.

Lol you obviously havent looked at the Aeon MQ6 skin. That blows Plex to smithereens. There is really no comparison. Anyways this thread isnt a Kodi vs Plex fight. So best to stay on topic.

Looks awful. Couldn't care less even if it's more functional.
