Microsoft? The lovely standard sticker price of 3949... minus 8% for working for a major corporation...
wow. sounds unbelievable but interesting story. Note to self: check your cores.
but alas, the task of proving me wrong didn't happen... Thus, if I couldn't be proven wrong, then I must be right...
LOL... unbelievable is more like it. You tell some good stories bblove600rr. What exactly were these configurations and lots of upgrades?
That's actually a logical fallacy. Just because you can't be proven wrong, doesn't mean you are right.
For example, by your argument, if I can't prove that the sun will rise tomorrow, then it won't.

Update since then: They confirmed that the box was incorrectly configured and they are swapping out and throwing in extras to make up for it.
I personally own 40 grand worth of high end Mac computer systems and that's just one spectrum of my toys collection.
1. Your story sounds unbelievable based on many different reasons. You went to the Apple store and they gave you a wrong box.. you go back with receipt in hand and say hey I got the wrong computer from you guys. They then give you an 8 core box.. there is no configuring a dual core system into a dual quad core system by Apple. They are separate boxes built differently.
2. For the price you paid how would the manager not know that you got the wrong computer?
Once again there is no configuring of processors. They are separate boxes built at the factory. 8 core boxes are shipped directly from China to the Apple Store or for Apple store online orders. So I have no idea what you mean by they are swapping out and throwing in extras for it. Did you mean they swapped out the processors????? LOL. Did you mean to say they gave you the wrong order?
but can you actually say you got thrown a couple grand worth of toys for a huge mistake made by Apple? If so, then great, kudos to you too, we're both in the same boat... if not, then yeah... you're hatin...![]()
I don't believe he ever said that they were "swapping out the processors, interior components and motherboard" nor did he say they were doing anything at the store. He did say that Corporate was involved. The problem seems to be that they went to the Apple store, told them what they wanted and the store had a box the configuration sticker said matched the specs they were looking for. Said box was probably improperly input into the system somewhere in China where the packaging is labeled and shipped to the store in the US. That the machine appeared to have been used also points to other problems. Doesn't seem far fetched or outta' line to me.........
