Are there any iPhone Plus lovers like me that are concerned that the anticipated iPhone 8's screen size is going to be smaller than what they are used to and therefore, be a step down?
I really love my PLUS and I don't really want to go down to a smaller screen. All the mockups and leaks that I've seen at least, show the 8 as having a narrower screen. What say you?

I purchased a iPad Pro 12.9" for my large screen iOS needs.

I'm over the phablet fad. Outside of the core first party apps no one ever puts in tablet inspired features into the phablet phones, not in Android and not in iOS. My 6+ is the last of the plus sized phones I'll buy. I don't care about the camera on the phone but I understand why they made that distinction in the 7 Plus in order to keep selling the phablet model despite the disappointing software.

I'm not in the market at the moment, but when I do upgrade I'm probably only going to get the base version of the regular iPhone.

What I say is the 8 screen will not be smaller than the 7S+.

What say you to that?

I dunno guys. It looks smaller to me in the leaks. By "smaller" I mean "narrower". It looks skinny to me. (Not as wide) The height might be the same as the Plus but if it's not as wide then that to me is "smaller".

Kinda with the OP on this one. Remains to be seen how much the supposed function area (is it ‘always on’) and the status bar/notch area eats into the additional screen dimensions. With the change in aspect ratio and the likely introduction of black bars when viewing content it might take some adjustment. All conjecture at this point though. Looking forward to the keynote.

Jesus! It will only be .100" narrower. Do you really need that real estate on your phablet? Big screen phones are getting ridiculous.

Think this image best illustrates current concerns with the usable area. As I say, pure speculation at this point

Worried? Not at all. If the rumor 5.8 OLED model is accurate, that's more than enough display size for me. I'm not concerned with it being "Narrower".

See, this shows exactly what I am talking about. The Function area looks to be about the same size as the chin on the plus and the width looks narrower. Sooooo, as I said, I think the 8 screen will be smaller than the current Plus.

I'll trust Apple in this case that they won't just have dead space for the fake home button or whatever. They will have a way for us to use the space when we don't need what's there.

I will also be interested in the 7S+ as I love my 7+ now.
I have a 6+ currently (my wife's 'old' phone) and am upgrade-eligible with Verizon at the moment. I've been considering holding out for the 7s+ but am concerned about the cost. May end up with a 7+ but I'll wait for the 7s and 8 to be released, which should drop the price of the 7+.... I hope....

Yes the 7+ price should drop. I do not think the 7S+ will cost more than what the 7+ did.

Not worried at all. I'd rather have the smaller footprint overall. Plus, the resolution is supposed to be much higher so we may see some software advancements there.

Narrower yes, because the bezels are smaller than the iPhone 5.5 inch. Take away the bezels on the 5.5 and you will have roughly the iPhone 8. I think these pictures are somewhat misleading and we shall see next month

Agreed. The resolution is more preferred for me as it stands. As much as I like the LCD display, the upgrade display trumps any minute differences in the display size.
