I'm surprised no one has mentioned the usefulness of tethering with jailbreak.

Literally the only thing I need a jb for. In the meantime, I'll have to buy a hotspot.

AT&T sends you warnings that they will upgrade you to a tethering plan if you tether via JB without paying them. Not only will this cause people to lose unlimited data if they have it, but if you continue switching your plan back and fourth because of tethering you risk having your account terminated and having to pay the ETF due to violation of your terms of service that you signed to begin with.

Doesn't happen to everyone, but enough for me not to try it.

This. Times 10.

I'm holding on to my highly tweaked iP5 like grim death. Not only do I hate the look of iOS7, it in no way compensates for the things I count on from Cydia.
First thing I'm going for when the iOS7 JB comes out is a dark icon set.

God, yes. Though even that won't be enough. So many apps I use are bringing out new UI updates to match iOS 7. More rainbow unicorn puke that's going to be hard to avoid!

Agreed, I've been watching many of my favorite apps go unicorn on me all day today, so sad to see Apple go this direction when they used to care so much about details and good design..

I used to JB for two reasons:

1. iBlacklist
2. 3G Unrestrictor

With 7.0, it's now possible to block any phone number so that rules out 1. I can deal with 2 without a JB ever.

Yes. As I go through iOS7 in more detail, I think I could adopt to many of the features they've borrowed from the JB community and learn to live with them. The colors and overall UI are terrible but much of the functionality I use from Cydia is there in one form or fashion it seems.

Still, having hotspot enabled on my unlimited (if I were ever to be so foolish ;) ) is clearly not ever going to be supported on a stock iOS.

I have two devices that I can tether with right now without any modifications. I can tether using my iPad mini on T-Mobile. Since it's not officially supported yet, there is no carrier file available so tethering is enabled and on LTE, I am getting about 30Mbps down. I also have a Nexus 4 that has tethering permanently enabled so all I have to do is turn it on.

I use TetherMe occasionally, and I've yet to receive a notice from AT&T. I know it has happened to others, but until I get a warning, I will continue using it as long as it works. FYI, I don't abuse the app, and I usually use less than 2GB per month of my unlimited data plan. Sent from my iPad.

For me there are still quite a few things that a JB can offer that stock can't.

FakeClockUp for example. I've grown so used to it that just going back to the 'slow' animations of stock iOS is not an option. Zepyhr, NCSettings, Barrel, and most importantly SwipeSelection.

SwipeSelection alone is enough for me not to upgrade.

Maybe Not, with 64bit comes a whole new set of bugs I'm sure can be exploited.

This. I think if anything, it saved Jailbreaking. It was just about dead with the latest versions of iOS 6 since they used all the exploits. I still wish Apple would stock being total d*cks about Jailbreaking.

Actually they have a whole set of exploits available, but they were saving those for iOS7.

iOS7 is pure awesomeness and for me personally - I never need to JB again and have to deal with a slow, sluggish iPhone that eventually would need a "fresh" install after a few months.

The ONLY tweak I'm going to miss is iBlacklist (for restricted/private #s) but it's not a necessity.

I can kinda deal with the lack of features in the msging that BiteSMS has..
I can't deal with 3gUnrestrictor and MyWi being gone lol. Those I do need to have with me at all times. Otherwise, I'm mostly ok w/o jb.

I need flux and AirFloat.

I wish Apple wouldn't be such restrictive dicks when it comes to certain apps. I can understand they're desire to prevent jailbreaking because the exploits used are a security risk. But at least they should allow a wider range of apps (like Flux and AirFloat and torrent apps) into the App Store.

Never had a sluggish JB phone nor had to restore ever couple of months...

If that's the case, that would be great. Those guys have to be some of the smartest security/software/programming researchers in the world, and when they do release jailbreaks, they do it in style!
