First time I hit VPN it just error'd connecting.

Second time I hit VPN and hit the home key and as soon as it exited Settings it crashed, and rebooted w/ CYDIA.

So far so good here.
 
Any advice here?

I went through the process...then the Absinthe program on the computer said "Almost done - just unlock the screen if necessary, then tap the "Jailbreak" icon to finish." I did that, but the iPhone opens the app and it's just a white screen (can still see the status bar with the time, etc at the top).

Now what?
 
how long is the "beginnning jailbreak" supposed to take though? Been sitting here for like 15 minutes and it's stuck in the same spot
 
I'm just the messenger so don't shoot me if this doesn't help:

Planetbeing tweets:

"The VPN connection will give an error. This is normal. A reboot should happen a few moments after the error."

"You can always start the VPN tunnel in settings/network" (on the iOS device)

"Just reboot and redo the jailbreak if you have problems."

"Camera roll will be empty if the jailbreak is incomplete. Rerun the app once to fix and then another time to complete jb."

Ha! It worked!

After the above step that I asked about, I exited the Absinthe app on the iPhone and then went to Settings and turned on VPN, it didn't do anything but give me an error the first time. Tried it again, phone crashed, started back up and hello Cydia!

My iPad has been jailbreaking for about 20 minutes with no obvious progress. This is the second time I'm trying.

The first time I waited about 15 minutes. Any thoughts?

How long did it take some of you iPad 2 owners to get it done?

my iphone 4s is the exact same way... Im seeing NO progression.
 
ha i wake up and jailbreak successful. Took two tries, back in the early days of JB it took me WAY more then two tries.
