Pod2g wants your vote on the next jailbreak

I think that's safe to say. The only reason absinthe didn't support 5.1 was because they dropped the exploit on non A5 devices a few weeks earlier, thus by the time the 5.0.1 A5 jailbreak was released 5.1 was around the corner.

He will definitely make it available for 5.1.1

So we can safely upgrade to 5.1.1 then on our iPad 3s and iPhones right?

With the latest redsn0w there is no reason not to update. Get the blobs saved of course.

I have my 4S now on 5.1.1, and no longer jailbroken. But I only updated because even if the jb for 5.1.1 is not released soon, I can still go back to 5.0.1 and re-jailbreak on that. If the jb is only for 5.1 I can roll back to that.

My only option is to downgrade back to 5.0 which is fine with me.

Going to save my blob and update now.
 
Alright..I've had a few drinks and want to make sure I can do this

I am 5.0.1 jailbroke and want to upgrade to 5.1.1

So I save blobs with new redsn0w

Install 5.1.1

Jailbreak tethered only
 
assuming you're on an 4s. you can't save your blobs if you haven't already. Otherwise, you can restore back to whatever your blobs are and have an untethered. You can't tether 5.1 on a 4s yet.

As I said earlier in twitter, there's still a lot to do to have a user friendly and well tested tool to install the jailbreak on end users devices. Expect a release in a couple of weeks.

It will be compatible with any device running iOS 5.1.1 except ATV3 (right now, may change in a near future, nobody knows).

Yeah, I said _any_ , which means yeah <your iOS device>.

There are 16 different devices out there to work on and to test. It takes time.
May I be a beta tester ?

No, sorry. Only really trusted people (that can be counted on one hand) could have access to the jailbreak. I don't want any leak to happen.
What if I offer you 1,000,000$ ?

Was just thinking about how limited my new iPad feels in comparison to my old jailbroken iPad2 that has now been sold.
