Wow! This is easily the nicest case I've owned for an iPad or Mini. The sleep/wake magnets work perfectly, and the fit is also perfect. For those who didn't read the "Failure" thread, the magnets were not working properly, and Poetic was sending out replacements at no cost. I managed to get one on Amazon for $.01 plus $4.95 for shipping! The prices varied by color, and I don't know if they're still on sale. Poetic said they were receiving the revised cases this past Tuesday, but it wouldn't hurt to look.

Material quality is excellent, and the magnets are very strong; stronger than the magnets in my Apple Smart covers. Weight is so-so, but only because the Air is so light. The microfiber inside is much finer than the faux suede Apple uses, and the ports and buttons are left uncovered (my personal preference). The entire case has a leather grain finish, and it's done very nicely.

I'm glad I stopped home at lunch. This one cent case made my day! :D

EDIT: Bought batteries for my digital scale, and it weighs 6.75oz. Not bad for a full case, but the Air feels much more substantial now. Fortunately, the case grips quite well, but is easily removed. I'm leaving it on for now. Scratches stink.....

The cover is removable? Or it's always attached?

The back and front cover are permanently attached together. I'm going to guess there is a YouTube video for this case, as they made them for the Mini. They also have over 1,000 reviews on Amazon, so it's not entirely new.

It's a three fold, but it does not collapse the way Apple Smart covers have been shown to when squeezing it. I just ordered a second case while the price lasts, although it did go up to $4.95. They're regularly $35, and only the black case is $4.95. The other colors are $9.95...

P.S. The three fold design does not hold itself together magnetically like the Apple four fold cover, but it holds together nicely. Maybe the price has made me a bit more lenient, but the Apple case has nothing to offer over the Poetic. ;)

Did you contact them or did they send you the replacement without prompting?

Look at the thread below, "Poetic Slimlime Case....Failure". The thread starter contacted Poetic regarding the magnets, and Poetic responded by telling him to keep the original, and they would be sending out replacements this week. I did not order until Nov. 4, and they were selling them for $.01 plus shipping. Apparently my case is the updated version, but they're still on sale at Amazon. If you bought a case prior to the update, contact them for a replacement. They were able to handle this pretty quickly, and allowed customers to keep the original case. Can't beat that!

Yeah I have the "original" version and was just wondering if they were sending out replacements to everyone who had ordered or if I need to email them to get it.

I don't have their contact info, but in sure you can get it from google. They did enclose a card in the shipping envelope, but it tossed it.

They contacted me on their own.
    I didn't have to do a thing.

    Could it maybe be 6.175?
    My scale reads 6.2oz.
And the first generation was 6.1oz

I got an email from them offering the replacement after I initiated a return request on Amazon. Am anxious to receive the replacements!

Okay..... Different scale. New reading is 6.35oz, with the Air weighing 16.7oz.
In any case, it feels light enough, and I slapped my Air right back in. You guys should really like the fully functioning replacement. ;)

I received my Poetic case today. Very happy with it. I had to scrape off some burrs on the plastic to smooth out some edges, but for $10 shipped from Amazon, you simply cannot beat this case. The back folds flat and feels comfortable.

I'm returning my POS Apple Smart Case tomorrow.

I received the new version today. It is perfect. Extremely minimal, and fits like a glove. It feels ectremely solid and looks great. Well worth the the cost of $0.01.

Those pics just made me buy one to be honest!

If I get it and love it, I'll be returning my Smart Cover. :)

I'm really happy with mine and considering it was only around 5 bucks, even better. The one continuous thread I would really like to see here is one that focuses on this type of case but the slimmest, lightest version of it that can be found.
