iPhone Air, with it's larger screen, for daily.

Kept the 16 Pro for video camera usage. It has replaced my GoPro for video. The 16P does get warm but at least it keeps running lol.
As an aside the workflow with iPhone is significantly better than the GoPro workflow. AirDrop is a gamechanger. I've had this for a long time and don't really know why it took me so long to make the transition to iPhone, especially considering the flexibility of mounting options, like MagSafe.

Both with a cell phone plan ?
Both with a single shared number most likely. It's in iOS 27 and just waiting on carriers to support it.

This is a great feature and actually kind of crazy to me that there was no way for two phones to share a number simultaneously before. But also I wonder how eager carriers are going to be to support it.

I see some people keeping their iPhone 17 Pro Max and using the new Apple foldable phone. What the point?
easy

iphone slab will be used for

camera
X notifications (for sport news)
work tasks/e-mail/teams
2nd sim

main phone will be foldable for basically all tasks

i'm different though as i have a vivo 300 ultra for camera and have oppo x9 ultra for camera as well

If you get a prepaid plan, you can use one as a burner with no apps, email or personal information on it. The unlimited plan from att was $240 for a year. Comes in handy when going out to public events IMO. I do this with great results.

I really wish the providers would let you keep two phones active on the same line. Even if you have to actively switch between the two so only one is active at a time, it would make it so much easier to treat your phone the way you might an Apple Watch or something. Maybe you have a bigger Pro Max phone for going on a big trip, maybe a smaller phone for going out to dinner.

I wouldn't trust a foldable phone at the beach or in the field (archaeology). I guess that would be a reason to keep two devices. But I have no interest in the foldable, so no concern to me.

Never mix business and personal. That is why I use two phones. Bad things can happen when you use one device for both.
My cell plan is paid for and it’s a personal phone with business bits installed. An MDM is installed that segregates the business bits from the personal bits. The mdm policy is laid out in MDM root profile block so you know exactly what is being managed, which I have no objection to. I work in a regulated industry.

Some other policies may not be as lenient. But my phone is rated “G” for grand-kids.😎

But heck yeah I would love to have another phone that I can use with my phone number.

Get another phone and use call forwarding.. that way you get your calls, then use the second phone as a backup/burner

Or you can just use calls on other devices, works in messages too for sma forwarding to another phone with the same iCloud account.
Are you guys talking about the Continuity forwarding feature? In my experience, call and SMS forwarding are the only two Continuity features that don't work between two iPhones. Other Continuity features work, but the call/SMS forwarding features only work between one iPhone and a non-iPhone Apple device.

Are you claiming that an iOS continuity feature only works with non iPhones, that’s not really possible.

I have been using the continuity phone call and sma forwarding for years, it always worked for me. No idea what you did wrong there. But best of luck figuring it out. It’s a great feature. 😊

Call forwarding has been around longer than cell service, if you are worried about missing a call when away you could always forward your call to another number.. same concept on the iPhone and backup/burner scenario.. I purchased a prepaid yearly plan for $240 and when I go out to a crowded/sketchy area I forward my iPhone number (and wife’s) to the backup which contains no personal information or apps.

A single number on multiple devices has been around quite a long while in some countries …. It’s been available in the UAE for a couple of years. It’s called Multi SIM, I believe you can have 5 SIM with the same number.

No, "non-iPhone Apple device" meaning a Mac, iPad, etc. (maybe Vision Pro?) just not iPhone. So call/SMS forwarding works with one iPhone + one Apple device that is not an iPhone. Sorry if I said that unclearly.
