I better see you complain on EVERY article on this site about Samsung, Lenovo, Microsoft, etc. and EVERY Friday giveaway as well.
I don't complain if it's actual tech news, and not 3rd-party accessory or app releases which belong in the iOS or Mac Blog depending on which device the accessory or app is for. The giveaways are in the Mac Blog, so I can tolerate that.

It's just one of the millions of Apps on the App Store and has no relevance to Apple's business. Sure, some kids play it right now, and the rest of us will move on. Pure clickbait content in lack of relevant tech news and no, if memory serves well this site does not usually write front page articles for many apps that happen to be popular someplace.

Actually, you're wrong. Macrumors has posted articles on many iOS apps in the past, such as instagram, snapchat, Facebook, 1Password, that's just off the top of my head.

Just because it's not relevant to you, does not mean it's not relevant at all. The app is relevant as an iOS app as well as in the tech area of AR.

If the app wasn't one on iOS, you might have some semblance of a point, but it is on iOS, so you don't.

I know 2 bodies have been found. My bad if no one has died but several have been robbed.

Bodies found, not killed due to Pokemon. If anything, the app helped inadvertently, as who knows when the bodies would have been found.

People get mugged every day, it's like saying free wifi in public areas is to blame for an increase of robbing. (Not that I'm belittling the events, but hopefully my point gets across).

You're sick of hearing about it. So you clicked to read an article about it. And then clicked to get into the discussion about it. To say you don't want to see discussion of it. Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

From the game series being popular for nearly 20 years and selling nearly 300 million copies over that time period.
I never played any of the previous Pokémon games or watched any of the shows. The only character name I knew was Pikachu. I started playing because it developed by Niantic, who made my beloved Ingress. As a complete neophyte, it's fun.

While I appreciate an app that is able to get people up and walking, I also am slightly irritated by the behavior of some players. Coming out of work there were two cars parked in red zones full of people staring at their screens. I know that it's none of my business whether people obey the laws, but I don't want people coming into my work parking lot and doing that where they don't belong in the first place (you need a permit to park there.)

I don't mind people playing games, but they really should be respectful of other people and other people's property. Unfortunately, I think it's bound to get a lot worse.

Could have just had a word. If you didn't, then you're getting worked up over your own shortcoming. Majority of the players are respectful and friendly. I've met some cool people by playing this, and it helped get me out the flat. A double win since I have social anxiety issues and I wasn't much of a Pokemon fan.

So, have you complained when Snapchat, Facebook, Flappy Bird, Instagram had front page articles? Bare in mind we can see your post history.....

Found the kid who no one would trade Pokemon with in elementary school. :( Sorry for your loss, friend. It's a fun game. If you don't like hearing about it, maybe don't click on the articles? Or respond to them for that matter. The rest of us will be outside having fun.

That's why I was "slightly irritated." Certainly not enough to intervene. I have no problem confronting people over issues that are important. Hopefully, the players will continue to be decent and I will just live with being ever so mildly bothered by their behavior. Glad it's a positive experience for you.

It could be they're not aware it's a permit only place? I wasn't meaning confrontational, just let them know, be friendly, rather than getting irritated. Bottling it up is bad.

I never said I complained about every such article, only that they all belong in the iOS Blog.

So, despite many many front page ones about numerous other apps, this is the only one you complained about? Why only complain now on this app, when it's been like this for the last couple years?

Are you the one in charge of the site? As I'm sure they're the one that decides what belongs where.....

And yet, I still haven't been able to log in to the game for hours now because of server authentication issues. Nice.

I'm sure this will happen in time. DJI implements no fly zones in its software for its consumer drones. It would be very easy to have no Pokemon zones. They will prob come out with a registration process where business owners, government, police etc can register no Pokemon zones.

Great.

Will it also fix Pokémon appearing in places they shouldn't appear in, like at all? Inside hospitals, police stations, on railroad tracks, governmental buildings, cemeteries, etc? Probably not. Shouldn't be hard to implement a no-Pokémon-zone for specific areas when you can literary use your player base to report no-go areas to the app.

I've been unable to authenticate since installing the update. Beware!

Are you back in now?

I can't update because I got it in the UK by the totally unofficial region switch method and because I've gone back to my usual account in the UK store it won't find the update.

I could log out again but don't want to have to redownload all my Apple Music :( lol. Thankfully the older version still works.

You don't lose anything (at least I didn't). Just logged out of the App Store at the bottom, logged back in with the US account, updated Pokemon Go, then logged back in my UK account.

Expect shootings to increase as people trespass to get to Pukemons.
Is really gameplay or competition the only way to get people off their asses? Do we need a bloody electronic gadget (watch) to stand up? I see bad things for the future.

I must say that I'm flabbergasted about the sheep-heard-mentality of humanity. Everyone wants to do and be the same as everyone else. At the same time, everyone wants to be "special" and be seen, preferably on national television, but at least with loads of "likes".
I'm starting to understand why people see me as strange as I don't participate in social networks and don't engage in mobile gameplay. My ego need no feeding and my ass can move without Pokemons.

Good for you!! Maybe the game is actually fun and brings a sense of nostalgia for some people?

I'm waiting for the Pokémon app update that makes every person's phone who plays it explode, bringing about abrupt death and dismemberment.

PSA! You will still need to go into your Google account and revoke full access to Pokemon Go.

This update will cause it not to get full access, but it won't revoke the full access if it's already there (just tested)!

So go revoke it and then login after you update!

Thanks for the call out, this is important and easy to do.

It's really awesome that you are superior to everyone else in being so self-motivated to exercise. Some of us like to have fun while we exercise. Is that really a problem? Or do you mostly solemnly contemplate the meaningless of life while you exercise and feel that everyone else should do the same? You make some sweeping generalizations about humanity, and "everyone". Is everything that is popular necessarily bad? Comparing people to sheep just because a lot of them are doing something you don't approve of, is both clichéd and more than a bit demeaning, but I suppose that meshes well with being superior. Me, I've had more than once when I would have been strongly tempted to blow off exercise for a day, if not for wanting to keep up the streaks on my Apple Watch. Is that a bad thing? Am I less good of a person than you because of that? Oh, and for the record, I have zero desire to be on national television.

People are having fun while they exercise. That's a good thing.

Why would you wish for such a thing? Do you normally cheer when mass killings happen?
