It doesn't work while driving. Hatching is disabled when the player is traveling faster than a pre-specified speed.
Not entirely true and if it didn't that'd be some straight up BS to those NOT driving ( passengers, public transit riders etc )

If you walk all over my property, I will let you know that you need to get the H out of my property. If you don't I'll call the cops. Idiots like these who do not respect anyones property of space needs some serious psychological help.
I think it should be socially acceptable and encouraged, when approached by someone staring into their phone and being totally oblivious to their surrounding (not seeing you to politely move to the side so you can each pass each other), to slap the phone out of their hands and straight onto the pavement.
So suppose someone is having a text conversation where they are asking directions. You advocate attacking them and destroying their property? If you did that to me, I guarantee you'd end up in handcuffs.
On a serious note though...and I haven't played it....I'm guessing GPS is required to be on? If so, at the very least the game should be aware of what is private property and not guide people into those areas, specifically peoples lawns. While the majority of people will not be bothered by a passerby, we all know there will be exceptions. No one wants to see anyone (and in all probability it would be a kid) get hurt over wandering somewhere they shouldn't. There need to be some safety measures built in...whether people ignore them is another issue...but they need to be in the app.

I will break your jaw if you even tried to assault me or my property.
I hope he also advocates it being socially acceptable to be expected to pay for ANY and ALL resulting screen or other repairs resulting from it
The kid likely wasn't aware that he doesn't need to go anywhere but the street in general. I was able to catch one from a block away on a parallel street. The official "radius" for the pokemon's target is 40 meters, but in practice it seems to be more like 20, which is still plenty of room. If you see him again, just let him know he'll still catch whatever he's after if he stays on the sidewalk.

The point of the game is to go out and walk. No one owes you something just because you want to cheat and drive around to be "faster." The characters in the game and show didn't ride around on a bus. They walked from town to town and saw the world. If that's too much to handle, play something else.
I know, right? Guess they'll have to settle it with a Pokemon battle! (I wish).Wow, didn't expect Team Rocket to be part of this game!
Nope. If you care about your screen and the condition of your phone, don't walk without looking where you are going?
You think the shopping mall had to pay for this lady's phone? Haha
Huge difference between walking into something/someone then randomly walking up to someone and willingly walking up to a person and slapping them or their property
Of course I'd not expect the mall to pay for her phone the mall didn't make her fall, mall employees weren't the direct or even indirect cause of her fall or phone damage.
Someone openly choosing to put their hands even briefly on a person or their property tho that is 100% direct cause.
It'd be no different if you're blasting your radio/laptop/tv/whatever and I as your neighbor have you invite me in then I knck your thing on the floor and shout "no keep that **** down" granted it's an over the top example but by your logic that's socially acceptable too and if not be expected to replace your TV/computer etc
Except your neighbor blasting loud music doesn't directly put you and your family in danger. Distracted driving and distracted walking does directly put you everyone else in danger of serious bodily harm.
What if a truck has to swerve to avoid some butt-hole that wanders into traffic with his nose in his phone, whether it is texting or playing this game, and ends up causing an accident? That is innocent lives at risk.
One guy? There are thousands of us playing. It's a great community. Stay DORKY everyone!
This is escalating quickly...
1. You're walking and glancing at your phone periodically.
2. During a periodic glance you bump into someone.
3. That person then slaps your phone out of your hands.
4. And then you break their jaw.
We went from playing a game to breaking a face in a fraction of a second.
I was a little kid when Pokemon first came out. I didn't get the appeal then, and I still don't get it. And I'm a video game playing, technology crazed geek. This sounds incredibly stupid. Not only as a driver do I have to watch out for even more idiots wandering into traffic, but I have to worry about even more stupid distracted drivers running me and my family off the road. I own some woods behind my new house and don't want these trespassers wandering about back there at all hours of the day hunting virtual pocket monsters. I wonder what the carbon footprint is of this game with all the extra people driving around for no good reason?
They want you to enjoy Pokemon in 4DWow, didn't expect Team Rocket to be part of this game!
I can't see pokemon where I live yet, but AFAIk they are set up in different landmarks by the company. Say there is a local sculpture or a park nearby then you get your pokestop, then a battle gym are bigger landmarks like churches.Another question I have is who determines where these pokemon things are? Can anyone just set them up?
