Pokemon = exercise ..... is laughable. Maybe someone will loss 2 pounds at the most.
Excersise is physical activity, if someone is doing more walking then they did before, they are involved in more physical activity than before, which means more exercise for them than before. The degree to which it would have an effect can certainly differ, but the fact that it would be more for many people than before is still a fact nonetheless.

Don't be that person that dies or kills someone else just because you're an idiot that likes Pokemon.

That video of people jumping out of their cars is absolutely ****ing ridiculous. Round them up and sterilize all of them.

pretty dumb to roll something out that has been struggling with about 6 countries let alone 26! like wtf were they thinking.
Money, mate!

Nintendo is going to end up getting sued. The app shouldn't lead you into private property. It shouldn't have you going into malls or stores when you have no intention of spending money there. The Pokemon(s) should be located on public property like parks or whatever. Nintendo should allow businesses and willing parties to host Pokemon (whatever the plural is) for capture. I wonder how long it will be before someone gets shot for trespassing or because someone else got the Pokemon before them. People are acting stupid just to acquire a combination of pretty pixels.
They're really pretty pixels though!

Update: The official Pokémon Go Servers Twitter account has linked to an article by The Independent claiming that a hacking group called PoodleCorp has claimed responsbility for taking down the servers using a denial-of-service attack. Gamers are advised to check back with the account for further updates.

Article Link: 'Pokémon Go' Now Available in 26 New Countries Across Europe, Login Issues Reported [Updated]
The bio of this account says: "Not affiliated with PokémonGo or Niantic"

Why is it considered official?

Edit: Fixed.

People having fun with a game: "OMG what a bunch of stupid nerds, get a life"

People standing in line for days to get the next Apple product: oh man, those guys are awesome, wish I could take a week off of work and do the same

The hypocrisy in this forum.

Depends on your fitness levels. Walking is vey much excerise, and if you do it at a fast pace, benefits are higher.

The hypocrisy here is nerds having a go at other nerds. Someone on the sideline will have a good laugh, the Apple fans having a go at Pokemon fans over obsession..... Ha ha.

Oh, I'm on the edge of my seat. Please write an article for each country when this happens, thx

Did you enjoy the individual CarPlay make/model articles ? Cause I'm disappointed they are grouping some Pokemon countries in one article :(

Yeah, those Pokemon people have some serious issues eh... ;)

At least they are excercising , instead of standing in line like zombies...

I really wish they would focus on stability instead of scaling to meet the demand of even more countries.

The great thing about being an adult is that I don't have to answer to anyone on how I spend my spare time. It's pathetic to tell someone they are too old for something. If you enjoy something, do it. If you don't enjoy something, step back and let others have fun.

I've played video games my entire life and I will do it until the day I die.
Amen!

And with all the **** happening in this world, if a video game can bring people outside, get walking and most important give them a bit of joy, what's not to like?

Never joined Facebook. Never joined Google. Never played Minecraft. Will never play this.

Wake me up when something interesting happens.

Please go on, what else do you hate? Prefer your correspondence to require stamps? Like the earthy sounds of a good gramophone cylinder? Miss the wholesomeness of the Lawrence Welk show? Things really gone downhill since you had to expand voting rights to all those protected classes? We value your wisdom, enlighten us; preferably in the form of an agriculture metaphor (bonus points if you include "y'all", "ain't", or "his'n" or put the word "done" before any other verb).

Fair enough, but do we really need an article for every country that adds support? There's literally 10 articles on the first page of the iOS blog forum relating to Pokémon Go.

I guess it's the hot story right now and it gets page clicks.

It's the first major Nintendo game on iOS. It's a world craze. It's generating millions (billions?) for Apple. That should be interesting to all in the apple ecosystem and as deserving of articles as any other events involving Apple. What's the cost to you? Nothing.

Walked out of my house the other evening to see a guy standing in my yard looking at our rose bushes. "May I help you" I asked. He replied that all was fine and continued to wander further into the flower bed. He mumbled something about "almost got him" and once I realized he wasn't high and was chasing some Nintendo character in my yard, I didn't know whether to be mad that he was trespassing or be sympathetic that his life has turned into following his phone around the neighborhood capturing imaginary characters.

I decided to just wish him well, got in the car and drove off.

This didn't happen.

My 10 year old daughter plays this and catches them as we drive along, I don't get asked to slow down or stop and as far as I'm aware she doesn't have to climb through any ways flower beds, so I'm guessing the guy in your garden was upto something other than playing a game.

Was he wearing pants at the time?

My gosh! They all look like a bunch of mind manipuladed zombies. Are you kidding me? If the sound was better you could almost hear: "Imhnotep… Imhnotep!"
There! Just send me death threats already!

Of course. I just find it amusing nerds picking on nerds... We are on a tech site devoted to Apple, let that sink in, and how people view Apple fans....
