Hahah we're slowly arriving at the truth here! Honestly corporate consolidation is kinda crappy imo.Geely owns Volvo Group (Volvo and Polestar) and Lotus. So it is a weird circular ownership like Porsche and VW Group.

Volvos that run AAOS are also getting these updates. This is such great news for the half-dozen or so people who have one.![]()
Volvos are manufactured mostly in Sweden (I’ve been on a factory tour) and the United States. I believe all their EX models are solely US built for the foreseeable futureVolvo own 49% and the rest is Chinese investment. I think they are manufactured in China, but then so are Volvo's these days. Polestar operate as a separate entity to Volvo though.
I have had no issues with it.better than junky, buggy tesla software.
Volvo also manufacture XC40, XC60 and XC90's in Chengdu, China. BMW also manufacture models like their all electric iX3 in China as it makes sense from a battery sourcing perspective. This isn't a bad thing though, as it keeps costs down for consumers.Volvos are manufactured mostly in Sweden (I’ve been on a factory tour) and the United States. Why are they only on street corners? Is no one actually driving them? They’re on the corner of every street here in The Netherlands 😉
Putting the map on the dashboard beneath the steering wheel is a brilliant idea
Charging of course 😉Why are they only on street corners? Is no one actually driving them?![]()
Which is why I wouldn't buy one or a Volvo.Volvo own 49% and the rest is Chinese investment. I think they are manufactured in China, but then so are Volvo's these days. Polestar operate as a separate entity to Volvo though.
Its still Volvo and BMW quality though much like our iPhone's are still quality products despite being manufactured there. The stigma about American built cars is becoming a thing of the past too, yet so many people still won't touch them. A lot of Tesla Model 3's for the European market are made in China and its becoming harder to find EV's with parts and builds that do not originate there.Which is why I wouldn't buy one or a Volvo.
Technically, not any more. Polestar was the optional performance and tech arm of Volvo but they’ve split up (still owned by the same Chinese parent company). The Polestar 3 is being developed in Volvo’s US South Carolina (IIRC) plant alongside the all electric EX90.this is all well and good, and Polestar may argue the point, but Volvo = Polestar. Its just rebranding!
Edit: just for more fun facts, in 2009 there was a "Volvo C30 Polestar Concept"
It is being built there for the US market, Polestar's second biggest sales market outside of China. Development in regards to design is primarily done here in the UK though as Polestar's main R&D facility is at MIRA Technology Park. It is located there due to its strong links withn the motorsports sector. I saw what was clearly a Polestar 3 in camouflage here in Wales last year.Technically, not any more. I don't think it's a matter of the place (the instrument cluster display) being too small. It's that you still have to glance down to see it, though it's safer than having to gaze to your right to look at a center-mounted screen. Anything that takes the driver's attention away from the road increases the risk, even if only slightly. It sounds better than in practical use. It is typically too small of a place to see anything meaningful up ahead.
There was an in-person event here in Denver a few weeks ago but I missed it because I was sick 👎🏼 Unfortunately, it didn’t stick around long enough that I was able to see it in person. It is being built there for the US market, Polestar's second biggest sales market outside of China.
