Policy question regarding access to certain threads

Well, with people like Shard and myself, our mere presence in the thread is the warning sign that doom is impending. Oops, I did it again.

Seriously, I think what you said in the middle of the thread is the best way to look at it. Politics is a sideline at MR to Macs. Whether or not it's true that more new members are likely to summon the ban hamster when they go in there is debatable, but I think the good thing about the policy the mods and Arn have set up is that new people, like you, come because of their Mac-love and then that love overflows into the political forum, rather than the other way around....
