My S7 Nat Ti is still in immaculate condition after polishing…..my old stainless S6 would be scratched after a weeks use.
I’m still trying to get the nerve to do my Ultra…….waiting for my first scratch which hasn’t happened since I got it last September. ……..not entirely crazy about it’s matte finish.
Same here. That's because the Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy Apple uses is much harder than the 316L stainless steel they use. It also means that polishing the Ultra to a perfect mirror finish is fairly difficult (even removing the striations from the S7 took quite a while) ... 😭

Titanium is much harder to machine and finish/polish than stainless steel, no idea where some people get their facts from?! Perhaps they're confusing the aluminium version for the titanium?

Here’s a polished Ultra, not sure about the price though, here in the UK we say, someone is taking the pi$$.

Yeah, they didn't spend nearly enough time on it - the titanium is clearly pitted, visible even in the low-res images they posted. I guess a sandblasted finish will look pitted when polished (unless you take the time to do it right) and the brushed naTi is striated (again, unless you take the time to do it right) ... That price, though? For that level of (in)attention to detail? Big lol. 🤣

Yet someone seems willing to pay that price to stand out from the crowd I guess.
