As long as it is strong, I don't care what material is used. I do prefer the one tone look for color though.

As far as the major differences, yes. The front face is a little wider on the 3G. The sides of the screen were closer to the edges and chrome bezel on the first gen.
The bezel itself was also more prominent. Not a major thing, but I always liked how the screen went to the edge of the device.I don't have comparison pics as of yet.

I liked the screen on the edge too. I always thought the 1G iPod touch was really ugly, and the black bezel around the screen reminds me of that.

I do too. The Aluminum felt more heavy duty and expensive. The plastic feels cheap, but I like the curve to the plastic.

Yeah. Asking to bring back the style that a phone had 6 months ago is the same as asking to bring back the look of a car that's 27 years old...🙄
