Do you Skin or Case your MacBook?

I don't, but I've also never really owned my own MacBook Pro, I've always been issued a work laptop that we're free to use as a personal machine as well. Im looking at buying one soon and will probably just get a neoprene sleeve for travel.

I use Bestskinsever's clear matte skin, and it practically looks invisible (not that tacky gloss). Great company as well. Been my goto brand for all my Macbooks.

Skin - I use Decalgirl. Ignoring the name, they are great skins and I constantly get compliments. Only thing is I wish they offered bottom plate skins.

OK so I said how I don't skin previous posting. I ended up sending my iBlason rugged cover for it was too rugged and heavy. Then last week I got a slight scratch in the top cover, I know its there but very hard to see, certain lights and angels. So I decided to skin again. I went with who I used years back on a 13" MBA. Happy with the looks, I only purchased the top and bottom but they gave me the keyboard and sides as well. I chose not to put the one on the track pad because of feel.

So see my artistic add on to protect from small scratches.

I put my lap top inside a Case Computer Backpack and put the mac in a Lazdo water resistant sleeve inside the back pack. I always end of taking an extra HDD, several flash drives, a dvd burner, and several books, in addition to the cord. The MBP is just one of several things I need, and I'm even more than 40 years from being any kind of a student.

Thanks for these pics. This looks better than I was anticipating. I do really like the space gray finish though. I think I might go with the BSE matte skin. Do these kind of skins leave a nasty residue on the machine if/when you remove it?

Not at all. I removed one after a year of use because I was selling it and needed to show its true state.

I have a clear shell case on mine. Last week I was taking my MacBook into another room and I hit one of the corners on a door frame. I'm pretty sure this has happened at least once before. The case did its job, and that's one less scratch or dent I won't have to photograph when I sell it.

Case for me - my 15" moves around a lot and is slid into bags several times a day so I like the extra protection.

This case isn't the cheapest, but I am quite a fan of the fabric-on-plastic covering - although it will be more difficult to clean than a regular plastic one.
