Sky blue is the only choice. Second would be silver.
I don’t know why people get excited about a black MacBook. Windows PCs are black because they’re made out of plastic. it was the easy design choice.

Never understand why people jump on new colours just because it’s a new colour
There’s no actual videos or photos other than those on the Apple Store at the moment to see what it actually looks like

Each to their own though. I’d wait to see it in store first if I considered the blue, but when I do upgrade it’s midnight with a slight chance of starlight. Coming from a space grey 2019 MBP

Something about the blue just looks...off to me. Kinda like weak cordial - they didn't put enough colour in to actually make it blue, but it's a bit too much colour to just be a tint. Almost like they tried to photograph a silver one but the white balance was a bit off 😅

Like I said earlier people seem to get drawn to new colours just because it’s a ‘new colour’, then next year they’ll be another random colour out and you’re stuck with a baby blue laptop for however long you keep it for
I’m sure it will look nice but at the same time… a blue laptop? Novelty will wear off after a week
Someone brought up Apple adding a project Red color for the MacBooks. That would definitely be my choice if they did...

Agreed. I recently bought a blue M4 iMac and was a little disappointed. The rear, which no one can see in my office, is a deep blue and lovely. But the front color is significantly washed out and almost indistinguishable from gray. Without seeing an actual M4 MBA in "Sky Blue" and fearing the same outcome based on the available renderings, I ordered my M4 MBA in Midnight.
Toss-up between silver and midnight.

We anxiously awaited announcement of the M4 MBA for my wife and she loves the new Sky Blue option. Out of the previous M3 options she would've chose Starlight, but Sky Blue is much prettier. Even I like the Sky Blue best in the MacBook Air line.
As for Space Black, I completely agree about the generic-ness of the color. I initially had a Space Black M3 Max MBP but got tired of it after a year and am much happier with my silver M4 Pro MBP. From certain angles the Space Black looked very flat and literally like a cheap plastic Windows laptop.
I know pictures can be deceiving, but it looks like a light silver with a slight tinge of blue. I’d be ok with that.
I dont think there will be an issue with stock so I’m not sure why most people wouldn’t do this, especially base models which are still available for day 1 pick up/delivery
I know people ordering BTO’s are seeing later delivery dates, but I expect Apple to under promise and over deliver on these and they will be delivered a lot earlier - I don’t see why they’d release a new Mac and not have an abundance of models with a 512gb SSD already made and available as that’s probably the most common BTO
I guess this thread proves exaclty why Apple don't need to try ever again and can continue to print money with minimal effort.
