What color did you go with for the Macbook Air M4?

I guess this thread proves exaclty why Apple don't need to try ever again and can continue to print money with minimal effort.

Because people choose colour it means that Apple don't ever have to try again? So people would buy the M4 forever as long as Apple provides colour options?

Your argument is self defeating. Apple provided colours on the previous MBAs too but has continued to improve the MBA line.

My M3 Air is Midnight; its new sibling will be the 15 Air in Sky Blue. Why both--I prefer bigger screens (eye issue) but at times need to go as light and small as possible (I want the 12 back). Different use cases--sorry the world just isn't 1 size fits all. Love the Pro 16 screen but not the weight so the 15 gets the call.

Just afraid of getting a midnight. I’ve had a silver for years and it rarely shows anything, maybe a greasy finger from eating Cheetos.

I had a midnight 15 inch MacBook Air and it was always disgusting even though I tried to clean it. Ever since then I would only get silver or space gray

I am a little surprised by the poll, seeing champagne Starlight with less than 5% of the votes. I am equally surprised that Midnight slightly trails classic Silver. Midnight was all the rage a few years ago and the newer version is supposed to be more resistant to fingerprints. Maybe most of the Midnight inventory already went to the early adopters so now demand is more representative of the middle of the demographic.

I’m torn between midnight and starlight, I need to visit a store and refresh myself on what they look like. Silver just looks abit old fashioned to me and sky blue is.. sky blue. Need I say more?

Need to remember that this forum has a lot of unnecessarily picky people though, who will swear that the midnight is the worst thing in existence because it might show a fingerprint - yet the sky blue is currently winning a poll on a colour nobody has seen in person or had any reviews of yet - what happens when that also turns out to be a fingerprint magnet?

Apple could drop a dull brown laptop and people would just buy it for some reason because it’s ‘new’ 😂

It is really peculiar how people vote for sky blue without having seen it in person. But there have been a few in-person YouTube Shorts posted so maybe this is what they are going by?

It’s not like they’re going to turn up to the store and it’s orange :D

There is also the Apple Store app AR.

You may be correct. I know the iPhone 13 PM my spouse had was called Sierra blue and I didn’t like it.
I think the sierra blue is more of a grayish blue vs sky blue which is on the silver side of blue.

Space Grey. Oh wait, it’s gone…

In that case, I will have to choose boring Silver over baby Sky Blue, posh Starlight or ugly Midnight blue.

MKBHD's review of Sky Blue is pretty funny. iJustine unboxed them in front of a blue background and wearing a blue shirt, so that really made the color pop more. Still, it's a nice, somewhat lighting-dependent subtle shade of blue.

Probably the silver, but there is no stock available for the configuration for tomorrow... So Im torn between the sky blue and starlight. I would go midnight, but I already have midnight and Id want something different to feel like an upgrade. Im leaning towards sky blue because a lot of the unboxing videos have it looking silver in a lot of the lighting... I may just pull the trigger and return it if I dont like it.

Just order the colour you want? You don’t NEED it tomorrow

Otherwise the original shipment date of the colour you actually want will come and you’ll just regret not waiting

I technically don’t need it at all :p but the reason I want the upgrade is the external monitor support. The color is overall a minimal aspect of the upgrade. I’d rather get a computer I can use tomorrow of another color than to wait another 2 weeks to be able to use it. I’ve been waiting since the M3 release for this one, so now that it’s available, I would rather not wait longer than I have to.

Again, I can always return it and just buy the silver if I really wanted to. I do know how to weigh these things I want and what I’m willing to sacrifice

LOL no. The MacBook Air M4 is a really really good laptop, and it's cheaper than the M3 with 16 GB RAM standard. Even people who love to nitpick aren't finding much to complain about with this one. The fact that it comes in a few colors is just icing on the cake. I'd buy one even if they only came in gray or whatever.

Had M1 MBA Rose Gold. Got M4 Sky Blue. I loved the rose gold, but would still probably get the new blue even if rose gold was available, just because it feels different and I want some change after 5 years. The sky blue is actually a really nice colour.
