I definitely wanted the white/silver, and after hearing that space grays were going to be very common that was part of what made me decide to just order from t-mobile directly for the color I wanted.

I could never settle on a product I'm going to own for 2 years just to have it one week earlier. If they didn't have the color I wanted, I'd just leave empty handed. To each their own I suppose ;)

Well, I just think it looks feminine for a guy to carry around a white phone. Now it would be nice if the front was black and the back was silver. :D

I did not know that white was a feminine color now?

As for me I ordered the white/silver... Rocking the white since the 3GS, still matches my 2007 macbook lol

I don't have mine yet, but I chose space grey as I like the black front. The gray part doesn't look too bad either :p

I answered that I settled, but not really. I already owned a white 4, 4S, and 5. So, it was time for a change. I really do like the gray. So much so, that the leather case may go back for a clear case (or none). Time will tell...

I've never been a fan of the white iPhone or iPad they look cheap to me.

I got the 64GB space grey because I like the black face (colours pop on screen with a black border IMO)

I wanted white/silver but settled for the space gray. But after using it I really like it and will keep it. I had the black/slate iPhone 5, and think the space gray looks better especially with the gray bands on the side instead of black. I was 3rd in line at the AT&T store not realizing they would only get space gray and not the white/silver or gold.

Yeah, I don't get this either. I don't understand how someone can let a few weeks of instant gratification outweigh two years of living with a color that wasn't their first choice. I've had both white and black with previous phones, and wanted black (well, grey) this time around. I love that there are three choices now, even though the gold doesn't appeal to me. It's nice to have more options for personalization that don't involve a case.

Off topic a bit but. . .

Is it just me or does the white bezel/front make iOS7 colors brighter? On all of the advertisements and even in store when shown with the white bezel it looks better and makes the colors (and OS) pop a little more. That's another reason why I'll gladly wait.

I wanted a white one, so I ordered a gold one on the internet.

If gold wasn't an option, I would've gone with silver - and I'm a straight guy. I've just had enough dark bezeled phones for now.

Originally wanted gold, second choice was white, settled for space age grey.

I managed to get a space gray from my ATT rep and then went by the Apple store to check out the gold. I have to say I'm not sure I want the good anymore. At least in the store, side by side, the new gray is much nicer than the gold. IMO. So I guess I settled for the gray but I'm glad I did ;)

I wanted white/silver but settled for the gray. After using it for the past few hours, I'm glad I did. It simply looks awesome. Much better than the black 4/4S/5

Yup, like alot of others I went to the Apple store with the intention of buying the white/gold....but they announced immediately that they were sold out. By the time they came around with the reserve cards they only had Space Grey. I was just planning on getting it and then coming back in 2 weeks if they had any gold ones in stock. But now I changed my mind, I love the look of the space grey and the white/gold just looks like a jewelry accessory. I'll leave that to the ladies.

I had a white 4s and wanted the white 5s. I thought it looked really sharp. My wife was 30th in line at the Apple store and still couldn't get white. Oh well. I bought it for the phone not the color.

This is basically what happened to me also. My local Apple Store said that they only had ONE gold iPhone, and only a few silvers. I just settled for a space gray because that was the only one they had in 32 GB for AT&T. But it has grown on me, and in fact I think it does look quite sleek.

I got the 64GB Space Grey. But, that's the one I wanted. Really big on that shade of grey. Possibly a bit obsessive-compulsive, but it'll actually match my car's interior. I don't really see the appeal of the gold phones. Personally, the only other color/pattern I might go for if they ever made it, would be a cherrywood design. Not that it even matters to me though, I'm just going to be covering the phone with a case anyhow.

I wanted white settled for space grey without even really looking at it until
I got home. Now I glad I ended up with space grey to my tastes it looks a lot cooler than my black 5, something about the edging color makes it more attractive.

I wanted and got Grey.

^ precisely this. Except about the white ones looking cheap. They look very sharp. But yea, I want the border to fade away. Until Apple can make the entire face a display, I'll settle for black borders.

Ordered gold at 00.02 and was content to wait it out until 7th oct......
Then I saw CPW had stock of silver for next day so thought "why the hell not". Cancelled gold and went silver. Helpful bank fraud prevention put a stop on the transaction by which time silver had sold out. Thought long and hard and just got the grey anyway. Arriving at 09.00 today.

I'm telling myself that it's fate and deep down, that is the colour I truly wanted.....

i bought a grey (settled) in person, but also ordered a gold at 12:01am w/ a delivery date of 9/27. i ordered it as a backup in case i couldn't get any iphone. now i think i will keep both, one for my so, one for myself.

Try using a Nokia Asha 501 for a week. You'd take a first gen iPhone with half the screen smashed in.

I couldn't settle. I was 17th at our Apple store after arriving at 9 p.m. The manager went around to make sure that everybody in line would most likely get what they wanted. When he got to my friend, he told her not to even try to get a Gold. When he got to me, he said that I should get the last Silver - 16.

10 hours later when they started passing out cards, there were no Silver 16s at all. I got a Gold card in the event that I could change my mind by the time the doors opened, but when I couldn't, I decided to try and trade to someone before me in line. Nobody had a 16-silver. So, I went ahead and purchased online while in line. Naturally, while I was doing so it changed from 1-3 days to 7-10. Oh well, at least I'll get the color I wanted. And now I have the gold guarantee card--I'm sure it is no longer guaranteed--as a souvenir.

No settling here. I wanted a 64gb space grey from the outset and luckily it seem to be the one they had the best combination of higher stock and lower demand. I just walked in to my local apple store (Trafford centre UK) at 5:30 in the afternoon yesterday (release day) and picked one up. No queuing at all! :D

I do like the gold more than I thought I would, but still the space grey feels more business like and masculine. And at the end of the day, a case can make it whatever colour you want at the time :)
