Before I could order it I'd need to have more hands-on reviews, so I'd likely be a late pre-orderer (this is assuming they do an iPhone-esque day before launch review release). Preordering an iPhone is easy because it's a known - I'd preorder the iPhone 7 today without a doubt. The :apple:Watch, as wonderful as it very likely will be, has too many fundamental questions unanswered.

As to price: if the standard :apple:Watch is $499 or less, I'll go with it at 42mm. Otherwise, Sport 42mm.

No, I like the pebble and moto 360 better

I'm not saying I like it better, but I sort of wish the Moto360 supported iPhone. If Motorola bring out an 'iPhone Edition' I think they'd sell a lot of those.

----------

I think the biggest draw back for the :apple:WATCH is that I believe they got the pricing wrong and it's gonna show. They gonna want this to out sell all other smart watches on the planet and I don't think it's gonna. People don't wanna fork out the prices Apple are gonna ask for, for something they're not entirely sure they need in their lives.

Us fan boys will probably buy one because OOH SHINY but I don't think general consumers are gonna be too bothered by this. Especially as it's not coming out in time for Christmas, it's not gonna be on anybody's Christmas list.

This needed to be between $200 and $300 (£200 and £300) to be a successful product. Again, I could be entirely wrong and Apple could well sell millions of these. I think the Sport model will sell really really well, then after that it'll be the stainless steel variant and then they'll sell exactly 5 Edition units. ;)

Seeing you are from the UK :)

I think we'd be unhappy with a dollar to £ swap as above :)

Perhaps it's the people I work with, and know personally, but I don't know anyone who is considering ANY smart watch.
They all have mobiles, all but I think 3 of the people I know personally have Android phones of various types (some did have iPhones, but moved onto Android) And the be honest, I rarely see anyone wearing any watch, other than 2 people I can think of.

Definitely YES.

No idea why, as I don't even wear a watch now, and I don't run.
I'm easily manipulated Apple fanboy, I guess.
Or maybe I just like new things. ;)

Apple Watch's battery

"Current rumors have suggested that the Apple Watch's battery is at "about a day," but it could improve before the device is launched in 2015."

Cellular phones kept getting smaller and smaller then the iPhone came along and now they are getting ridiculously large in my opinion.

I am reluctant to put an $800 phone in my pocket where it can get scratched or broken so I carry it on my belt. I can't picture myself carrying an iPhone 6+ on my belt so I guess I'll wait for the 7 and maybe it will have something worth waiting for.

The size of the iPhone has gotten me thinking about going back to wearing a watch but then I saw where I might have to charge it every day.

It seems I am forever charging IPhones, iPods, iPads, and now an Apple watch?

A watch is far more likely to get wet or to be damaged than an iPhone or iPad.

Perhaps it will be the warranty or AppleCare or how long I can anticipate it will last before the battery fails or it is obsoleted that will determine whether I buy one or not.

My overwhelming concern may turn out to be how long I think the battery will last because I suspect it will not be replaceable. I could live with $50 a year for a $350 iPhone iWatch (5 year battery life) but not $175 a year (2 year battery life).

A maxed out iWatch would probably cost me at least $500 and there is no way I would pay $250 a year for a watch if I thought the battery might only last two years. iOS devices usually only have a two year maximum AppleCare.

Just 1 persons opinion.

The watch intrigues me, but honestly, I haven't worn a watch for a decade now, since I started carrying a smartphone. Seems redundant...and now I'm not excited about adding a wearable. If it could replace my smartphone, I'd be all over it, but as an addition? Not yet convinced.

I wouldn't preorder as it is something I'd have to see on my wrist. I'm assuming Apple won't offer a preorder for the same reason, there would likely be many returns. I'm not sure what size, model or band before I see my options.

For those of you worried about a gen 1 devise, I think you'll be happy surprised when they announce the ss and gold versions will be updateable. It's the only way that makes sense selling these pricier models.

Again it depends on cost.

A chunk of Aluminium 2 dollars
A chunk of Stainless Steel 4 dollars
A chunk of gold 1000 dollars.

Stainless Steel alone would not push the manufacture price or material costs up by probably more than 10 dollars to Apple. Even swap out glass/plastic for tiny bits of sapphire, let's say another 10 dollars, so let's push it to 30 dollars extra for Apple to make it.

If the Aluminium model is $350, then $500 for Stainless would still deliver an amazing markup.

I like the concept. I'm worried about battery life, how water resistant it is, and how scratch proof the casing is.
I would need to try on both size as I have small wrists. I'm concerned about weight/size.
I'm also not a huge fan of the different bands. Also the different colors.

Once I narrow those things down, I'll prob order one.

I would preorder in a heartbeat, it's not like it's expensive. I'm going to order 2 as soon as they are available. A larger model for myself and the smaller one for my Wife.

Not ordering an Apple watch, AKA Personal Tracking Device, nor anything resembling it.

Don't bother offering excuses, advocating or promoting your beliefs opinions.

Not ordering an Apple watch, AKA Personal Tracking Device, nor anything resembling it....

The aWatch has no GPS or cell tower data to track you with and can only communicate to your iPhone.;)

Also every cell phone ever used, being used or that ever will be used must track your every moment in order to work.:D

I'll wait until it's announced with its final features and prices for other than base model before I decide if I want one. I got a new iPhone 6+ as a second phone line, kept my 5s from last year, and just got a new iPad Air 2 but I'm undecided about the Apple Watch. Not because I'm not impressed or for any negative reason. I just want to see all the latest facts when it's launched before I decide.

I am interested in it and looking forward to knowing more.

It would be funny if the price of the Edition (gold) said "Market" when it's launched like they do for the price of lobsters and gold.

Maybe they will end up with a lower priced Apple Watch (like Apple Watch nano) soon after the launch. If they see that not enough people buy ii, and it's a good way to get more people to use Apple Pay, they might want to lower that barrier to entry (price) by making a plastic, waterproof version that kids and teenagers would be more apt to buy?

Who are those 8 people who vote on buying the Edition?

If it fell in the $2000 or under range, I might buy one, if, and only if, Apple announced a very generous upgrade or trade in at launch. I'm not holding my breath for any of the above.

At the $350 price point I will probably shell out the cash for it. I don't really want to upgrade to the bigger iPhone 6 and the watch allows me to use Apple Pay with my 5s. Also, the health monitoring features on the phone may actually provide some incentive for me to exercise a little more. They priced it almost perfectly in my opinion. It will cost me more to sell my 5s and upgrade to the iPhone 6 instead of staying with my iPhone 5s and buying the watch. The guys in charge of pricing their stuff know what they're doing,

Hate to point this out of our you, but that $350 price is for the small woman's version of the Apple Watch. If you are an average sized male, the cost for the basic watch will fall between $400 and $450. Don't think many people realize this.

And my response to the Apple Watch; I like the features and what it is capable of, but it is one of the ugliest watches I have ever seen. I expected Apple to create something elegant and simple like the Moto 360. The Apple Watch looks like something you'd find in the kids toy aisle at Target.

I would never buy a first generation product of a new class. They will analyze what works and what needs improvement for the next gen. Look how fast the iPad 1G was left behind compared to the iPad 2.

iWatch specifically, I don't want a watch that has to be charged daily. If they can hit 4 days per charge I'll take interest. If it can only last "about a day" now, in one year it will be "half a day" and then "until lunch"....

Yes I will pre-order - has return period for a reason. If I am not completely sold I will return and then reevaluate.

Yes I would ! I can not wait for it to be released ! Hopefully we will know something fast about an update on when this thing will be released. I think it will be available by April - June

I am ready to click the preorder button whenever Apple is. I'm either going with the standard model or the Sport, whatever is cheaper. If I can gather enough money, definitely going for the standard model with either the Milanese Loop or Link Bracelet. If I go Link, definitely going Space Black.

And no matter what, 42mm. Even if it costs a little more because I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I fanboy-ly want it, but thinking about it, I can't justify its practicality for my lifestyle. I would probably play with it in stores before making any decisions.
