OMFG this is the fastest, smoothest, most badass computer I've ever owned Here's Why:

I love my new Mac Pro. I just put in 4 more gigs of approved ram, and FCP is smoking! Things like expose and the dock run with ABSOLUTELY no delay:eek:. When I open docs/apps they snap open, even with the funky mac animation. Startup time is nothing, not like with similarly priced HP computers--even with my Symantec AV and my Huey Pro Monitor Calibration, it boots up cold in seconds.

With my MX Revolution mouse, my workflow is insane!!! (this is an amazing mouse by the way, and affordable). Beats the pants off the Mighty Mouse!

As a creative professional, this workstation is such a great tool and feels like a relaxing comfy chair. The OS is like a familiar friend--not a cold adversary like windows. The way FCP is so fast and snappy, makes editing video/film substantially less daunting. When I edit video or compose music it is if my Mac is saying "Yeah we can do that! No problem." Which makes my workflow so much easier when the creative juices flow. With Vista/XP my computer says "Umm, no we have to do it my way, or the high way, buddy!" then the creative idea gets squashed.

The case design is well thought out, rugged and just plain cool. If you look at the little things, you can see the careful thought and care put into it. The case seals for proper flow, the silicone feet on RAM Risers so the board welds wont touch anything directly while you are installing RAM, the way the power cord is recessed into the unit, the fact that the case is solid and does not creak when you move it...all things that show the great, thoughtful engineering apple puts into the Mac Pro. I really can't say the same about the HP workstations in the same price range. The aesthetics of the case are simple and functional FWIW, I don't think it really needs a redesign.

That is why I am so enamored with the Mac Pro.

That's my $0.02.

Why is that? If you vote for those two, please tell us why to help others. Or is it people who are actually waiting for nehalem just making themselves feel better for waiting 8 months?

I'm a little disgusted with FedEx, as my machine was due to be delivered today, but they forgot to put it on the truck, so I have to wait till Monday...

This won't actually be too bad though, cos my extra 4 gigs of RAM is due Monday as well... :)

I voted for the above option.

See the previous page, my Mac keeps locking up, it's practically impossible to use.

I would love to hear from someone who wishes they had waited for Nehalem. Is the Penryn Mac Pro not substantially better?
