I’ve always had stainless, this time I think I’m going to change it up a bit and go either titanium or (more likely) gold stainless.

I am 100% sure the info will be up before preorders begin, maybe even today.
It may be tomorrow with the anniversary of Steve‘s death they may want to not distract from the day but maybe they will but not publicise any updates

I won't be updating this year but so far I've had silver aluminium (which I liked but it's a bit too pale so it kind of looks white rather than silver; I'd have liked a version more like the space grey of the iPhone 6s), silver stainless steel (which I liked but it maybe felt a bit dressy for me) and silver titanium (which I love). When I get my next watch, I fully expect to go for the titanium again. For me, it's the perfect finish.

Will opt for the Hermes one again. So silver stainless steel it will be. Wish the gold would end up in the Hermes line-up one day.

I am using the gold ss s5 currently and it’s my favorite color. This year I’m keen to try the graphite or starlight. I prefer stainless steel for its look plus the sapphire crystal is just nicer. But it’s a huge premium for a small amount of material change.
The starlight I think could actually look good with my brown skin tone as it has warm undertones. It’s also why I liked the old stainless gold over the new light yellow one that doesn’t pair well with my skin

I have people telling me "Midnight" is black on the phone and others saying it is dark navy. I would assume the watch will be the same exact shade, so I wonder what the real answer is

No idea. Depends on bands and available combos. Apple just expects us to guess at this point with no info whatsoever on their site.
Not sure why Apple holding back information. I’m sure they have their reasons. This launch seems messy and stock will probably jump to 3-4 weeks right away.

I think you are right about the S5 gold - gold has never suited me, always worn white gold or silver. I have tanned skin too due a Mediterranean & Asian influence in my immediate genes. I have a S5 SS Gold and love it though.

I think I will go SS Silver this time as the 'new' Gold is too yellow for me. Alu is an option as keeping my SSG.

Am still undecided and would like a configuration site to try out with different straps. Reluctantly leaning towards Midnight, as Starlight just looks like metallic beige to my eyes

Feels a lot like silver has been pushed into the pricier models, deliberately. It always appeared to be popular

Always went space gray, but don't really love the midnight. Looks too much like a blue to me in my opinion (maybe looks different in person, but who knows) That being said, think i'm going with graphite SS for the first time.

I think I'll be going with Midnight.

Have the original in silver, the Series 3 silver, Series 4 silver....
Yesterday I purchased the iPad mimi in Starlight, and will probably return it. Sometime it looks silver other times gold.

I don't know why Apple decided to stop the classic silver.
Hope Starlight doesn't come to the new MacBook Pro
I feel the same. I've looked at some of the comparison shots floating around on the internet and can't get past what a sickly champagne colour it is. Starlight may be my least favourite colour that Apple has ever released and I pray it doesn't make it over to any of the Macs.

Go to the watch Series 7 page on apples site and view in AR. Zoom right into the midnight watch and you can clearly see the blue tint.

And yet a friend of mine who owns the midnight iPhone 13 tells me it is black in person. So confusing.

Same here. Always went silver aluminum, but I hate gold/champagne and I know that starlight would drive me crazy.

I actually like the look of the midnight aluminum and think it will still go with most of my bands, so I'm actually getting excited about trying out a new color. If it turns out I hate it, then oh well, I can just return it.

Well I can't argue with that as your friend actually has an iPhone 13 in midnight. All I'm going off is an AR render, so..
