I expected it to be less. I've heard homosexuality estimates between 2 and 10%, but I always thought 10% was excessive for the general population. This poll also can't be generalized, so I might still be right.

It's weird, but I've always experienced the 10% thing everywhere. In my college dorm, we had 60 guys on my floor and sure enough, six of us were gay. I've experienced that in other situations too. It's very strange.

I think it's because the gay members in here are a bit more vocal, it just seems that there are more!;)

I've always been taught the 80/20 rule myself, you'll be surprised how many things in life conform with it. So the question is, who are the other 10% kidding themselves on?

It was a lot less here. Out of 30 on our college course (or similar, we shared rooms), only 1 was openly gay.
But that said my girlfriend's course mates are mostly gay or bi.

Media, multimedia. Both Diploma and Foundation Degree types of them courses too.
Which is odd I know :p but I did say openly, I'm sure others might have been. We always suspected the ballroom dancing champion, fake tan and camp attitude guy was a little less straight than what he claimed! But then he went and got an opposite sex fiancee and moved together near the lovely town of Bath.

A couple of things get me going but I'm not entirely the most anonymous person on this forum :eek:. But not furries, just so you (those eager beavers watching) know.
 
What I think is interesting is that across vastly different cultures, and in very different places, the proportion of gay people in any population is more or less the same. Very strong evidence indeed that it is genetic, and most definitely not a lifestyle choice for the vast majority.

Alright, I'm going to bite, and take the possible harrasment behind this question, isnt it called like "furry" or something? Also, whats a paraphilia? I'm sorry, I'm at work and dont feel like getting fired for googling "furry" or "plushie," however, I'm interested in learning new stuff, and I've heard of this sexual preference before, but without any detail.

Care to enlighten me?
