I think it would be better if new applications where being made... I used to love getting up, take a shower then checking installer for any new updates or new applications... Lately, it's the same old stuff and no new applications that I find worth downloading....

I gave up on jailbreaking and went with the $20 apple upgrade which had everthing I wanted. That way I can just move forward with updates in the future. I am totally happy with my updated touch! :D

Well, I was bored last night so I jailbroke 1.1.3 with the Installer Dev Team Jailbreak. It worked and everything... I can't figure out how to fix Terminal, MobileChat and ApolloIM... Did I wait too long to jailbreak 1.1.3?

Odd. Didn't you say in the first post in this thread that you saw no real reason to jailbreak, that you had all the apps you needed and that you had "completely lost interest" in it? Seems awfully fickle, such a sudden and drastic change ... ;)

I have my 8 gig iPod Touch running 1.1.3 jailbroken. No bugs, or anything, I love it! :)

It's called boredom... hah! I'm actually backing out of this change and I'm reverting back to a vanilla 1.1.3 because I found out that the jailbreak I was using was just a modified 1.1.2 that was patched together to look and work like 1.1.3 but, it wasn't the real thing. Plus, I can't rent movies and watch them on the 1.1.3 Dev Team jailbreak. MobileChat kept freezing on me even after I got it working and the only thing I was using on the jailbreak was Sketches... didn't seem worth it to me... so I take it back.

One more thing, like others have said in this thread... I'd rather have a legit iPod touch that is 100% ready for the SDK and the switch to 1.1.4 or whatever the version number might be next week.

I can't decide yet if I want to make my touch vanilla before the SDK release. It would be nice to not have to deal with worrying if it's gonna freak out if I install something. I guess it's just really a matter of if I want to be legal with it or not. Cause if there's essentially going to be the same apps with a jailbroken touch and an unjailbroken touch with the SDK apps then I'd probably rather be legal.

Eh, more than likely I'll restore it on Sunday and just wait to see what happens. If I'm not impressed with stuff released with the SDK then I'll just jailbreak again. I don't know, I can't decide.

Would it be smarter to just wait it out and see what others say about the SDK? I don't want to do that because I'm hearing whisperings of how I won't be able to go from a jb touch to restored. But rumors and all that. I can't decide!

Two things are going to the Jailbreak community when the SDK comes out. Only one of them will happen, though.

1. SDK is AMAZING! Every hacked 1.1 through 1.1.3 upgrade to a vanilla 1.1.4 (or 1.2) and install great apps, legally. The art of Jailbreaking loses its magic and the iPod dev teams don't see that much of a demand for it and they too, give in to Apple's evil ways.

2. SDK is HORRIBLE! Every hacked 1.1 through 1.1.3 stays hacked, and the solemn group of people who have vanilla 1.1.3 iPods scream and run back to a previous firmware. Jailbreaking is rekindled and legitimate ways to Jailbreak are once again back and well. Apple and Steve Jobs lose a few hairs during the process.

This is basically the scenario approaching next week. I, for one, have a vanilla 1.1.3 iPod after being an avid Jailbreaker enthusiast. I just saw the instability of the JB 1.1.3 version and needed the BEST firmware possible, so I went clean. I can't wait for the next firmware, for now I can download it the second it comes out, without fear of consequences from my iPod touch.

"Tisk the week before the SDK and all through the blogs,
People were pouting and downgrading about.
For little 'ol Apple had a trick up there sleeve.
For this SDK twas to be like gold,
But everyone who upgraded were just fools..."

Hoped you enjoyed by opinion/views...and my poem. ;) :apple:

I like the lyrics feature as well as webclips and newer maps. Happen to know any tools that will update lyrics in my entire iTunes library?

There's a way. A bit tricky, but it works. Although lyrics are just like artwork, there's only some easily available.

Get a widget called pearLyrics, a little tough to find since they took it off the market. It searches for lyrics automatically whenever you play a song and can be set to plug them into iTunes info screen.

Also get a script called Needle Drop. It plays the first xxx seconds of a song, then plays the next song, etc.

Get the widget running, then start Needle Drop (set for 20-30 seconds) in the iTunes Browser and let it run.

I'm from Singapore. My country does not offer the $20 iPhone applications for the iPod Touch. That's because we don't have an online iTunes store yet. Which is friggin' stupid.

So, I'm gonna keep jailbreakin' the little sucker cos Apple does not give me any other choice.

Firmware 1.1.4 is going to have to be amazing for me to update. I am still very happy at 1.1.2 JB.

Let's say Apple releases the SDK next week...what exactly is going to be there at launch date that makes you feel you must immediately upgrade? I can see copy and paste if it's there, but otherwise what is it you expect to see?

Only a select few developers have had early access to the SDK, so there are only going to be a few new apps out, and you will have to download and pay for them through iTunes. It could take months to get anything really awesome and to arrive anywhere near what is available to JB Touch's.

I am taking the "wait and see" approach. If I can get access to apps like Telekinesis, iZoo, Finder, and Textedit for a reasonable cost on the new firmware, I will upgrade and leave Jailbreak behind, but I see no reason to upgrade until such stuff is available.

I've been keeping my Touch clean lately. I too got sick of all the soft upgrade JBs for 1.1.3. The Ziphone JB is a mess, and I don't want "fake" 1.1.3. The only apps I used were the iPhone apps. The rest, though cool, got old quickly. I do miss summerboard and customize, though, and hope the SDK brings a legit version of those two apps. I just don't really see the point anymore, except for the fun of "hacking." But, I'm content with a legit 1.1.3, and am patiently waiting for the SDK to bring some hopefully great 3rd-party apps.

Like many others I have found the 1.1.3 JB to be too much of a palaver and so I've resorted back to a JB 1.1.2, however I may be swayed to go 'vanilla' if 1.1.4/1.2 is as good as we all hope.

I tried jailbreaking with Ziphone on all three of my iPhones and kept them that way for a few days then got rid of it. I still have one iPhone jailbroken and unlocked only because I can use my old GoPhone sim in it. It won't work in the iPhone unless it's unlocked even though it's an AT&T.

honestly i never really used any of the apps with the jailbreak that much. plus after the last update jailbreaking just wasn't as easy, all the downgrading an upgrading turned me off, plus, with the sdk around the corner it seemed useless. I just want to have a to do list and sync notes.
