I am going to try this. I have a 3g with dead wifi and i would love to fix the wifi to be able to use it to stream music to my home sound system. As it is it just sits in a drawer, so nothing to lose.

This is actually how I make some side money.

Buy "dead" componets provided they aren't water damaged or something to that nature and place them in the oven for about 8 ~ 10 minutes to get them working again.

I made tons of cash on the old 8 Series GTX video cards because people were e-baying for next to nothing and I could turn around and sell them for a decent profit.

It's not an insane idea and has been around for a while. This works with everything from phones, video cards and about anything with a board.

When my Xbox 360 RRoD'd I put the motherboard in the oven to melt the solder which supposedly would fix it. I figured it was already broken so I had nothing to lose if I broke it even more. Well needless to say it did actually work, but subsequently I got the red rings a few days later...

I hate Xbox 3600 RRoD I got it destroyed it with a hammer and everthing was perfect (and switched to ps3).
