Just unpacked my iPhone XS Max 512... and the case is squeaking. If I gently "twist" it the phone gives me shoe type load squeaky noise. It is really annoying to pay 1500+ for the product and have such a poor quality. I'm going to return it back and be off market this year.
This happened to me last year with an X. I just returned it and bought a new one. This is why I like to wait a month or two before purchasing the new phones.

My iPhone X also squeaks, conspiracy? o_O
My X doesn’t squeak.

[doublepost=1537581033][/doublepost]did U even take the plastic off?
I’m stupid, of corse, I didn’t remove plastic and I do not take off my pants when I want to poop :)

Thanks, I think I do the same. I jumped in too early. Once again thanks for your support.

My family and I have been super lucky I guess. Over the years, we have purchased over 30 Apple devices and only 1 was actually brought back in for repairs. That was my son-in-law’s laptop. And we are super fussy with any type of defects - no matter how minuscule.

I always wonder whether Apple exec’s receive hand inspected devices from the production lines for all their testing, field testing etc thus issues we see are just not on these special devices.

I also suspect Apple read these forums for defects etc too.

My XS max had the same issue and i got mine swapped by Apple Genius without questions asked. They just documented the issue then gave me a brand new replacement. I think you should contact apple to get a replacement.

My X started squeaking a few months ago when I tried it after having read about it here.

Some things are just meant to be left alone... like this subject and if a screen is white or yellow :)

I don’t think it’s meant just to be left alone because that means you’re just settling for issues and not doing anything about them.

I’m never one to bring up these issues when a new phone is out but if I paid $1300 for a phone I certainly don’t want it to make noises it isn’t supposed to everything I grab or wipe it off.

Of course I can relate to what you are saying.

Main question is if it’s a faulty device or not because making a little squeaking noice... remember phones like SE T68i? They were just as expensive and—wow—they were squeaking A LOT!

I remember trying to complain and the seller told me to put some paper between the battery and the battery cover. It helped a little bit :)

Why on earth would anyone twist a brand new expensive phone?
To test its build quality. Samsung phones don't make an effing sound however you twist them even after years of use.

To the OP, I noticed mine squeaks as well just this morning when I changed case. It never did produce any squeaking noise before. I'm not bothered though cuz it's been a year since I got it and it still is functioning properly and on a positive note, after a year my battery capacity is still at 100%. Disappointing I know for a $2k grand phone that cannot keep its structural integrity intact.
