Surprised none have posted pics. of Ternus in his P car, he tracks one @ Laguna Seca & miss my CGTS.

I’m so conflicted about all this. It’s so weird that a company with environmentalist bona fides cares at all about automobiles and racing… they should sponsor Tour de France cyclists.

but I do have a soft spot for Porsche, I drove an old 914 in college. I do miss that car.

All the pro race cars in the world running simultaneously probably do less damage than a handful of cruise ships. I too have a soft spot for Porsche (981 Cayman) and know its little 2.7L at ~2000mi/year isn't doing anything.

Racing uses negligible fuel to begin with and Porsche is at the forefront of sustainable carbon neutral fuels in addition to hybrid power advances that come directly from racing. Maybe try and learn something about the topic before you cast judgement.

John Ternus day 1 needs to bring back the rainbow Apple logo. They can still keep around the current one for putting on products (unless there is a special colorway), but I think they should go back to the rainbow logo as their main brand identity for marketing and such.

Just bring back the stickers and then some. Give people a choice of stickers as a free, optional add-on at checkout with computing devices.

You can respond to a person without insulting them.

I’ll be there this weekend. Glad I saw this article.

I’ll try to get a few pics though they won’t compare to these. I hope they have a cool tshirt I can take home

Allan Moffat would have loved to see this. He was the man hand-picked by Steve Jobs to race the Apple Computer 935 K3 at LeMans in 1980. Unfortunately the car let Moffat down and it failed to complete the race. There's even a documentary about him and this particular race, plenty of footage of the rainbow-striped #71 Porsche here:

Sadly, Allan passed away last November.

Sorry what? iPhone, Homepod mini, Airpods Max, iMac, Apple watch, Macbook Neo, Macbook Air... they do color more than just about anyone. Also, they did an Apple music car at Long beach. It was this livery with red stripes. The white is a signature Porsche thing.
If they do anything like the old iPod commercials I'd be happy. Use internet archive to look at the Apple site in the mid 2000s compared to today. Drastic difference. But the iPod commercials got me to buy lots of stock, so I'm unbelievably happy in some aspects of life. Life needs zest! But if bland gets the stock up another few thousand precent I'll be happy.

Porsche today announced a new collaboration with Apple that will see two Porsche 963 vehicles outfitted with an Apple Computer-inspired wrap in round four of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Laguna Seca. The event is set to take place on Sunday, May 3.

Porsche says that the one-time design is meant to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport and the 50th anniversary of Apple's founding. The wrap pays homage to the Porsche 935 K3, which competed in the 1980 season and raced at Le Mans.

In a statement, Apple Music, Sports, and Beats Vice President Oliver Schusser said that Apple is proud to once again partner with Porsche.

Porsche Motorsport Vice President Thomas Laudenbach said Porsche and Apple are both "icons that stand for innovation and continuous development by experts in Zuffenhausen, Weissach and Cupertino."

The Laguna Seca Raceway is located 80 miles south of the Apple Park campus, and the fourth round is set to last for two hours and 40 minutes. The No. 6 Porsche 963 will be shared by France's Kévin Estre and Belgium's Laurens Vanthoor, while the No. 7 car will be shared by France's Julien Andlauer and Brazil's Felipe Nasr. The No. 7 vehicle currently leads the IMSA championship standings after winning the opening two rounds at Daytona and Sebring.

Earlier this year, Porsche featured an Apple Music-themed livery for the third round of the IMSA Championship at Long Beach.

(Thanks, Greg!)

This is great! I'm glad that both brands can do this again. They both take design seriously.
