Sigh, yet another pointless toy from Apple.

That will sell in the millions! Toy, not hardly. You have no clue how the iPad is ingrained into hospitals, research, Photography, and the like. Because it is a toy for you,for millions it is a productivity tool:apple:

----------

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

that iteration would be a laptop killer, ain't happening!;)

Apple have suddenly realised that there are big benefits to Android's "just make the screen bigger", as they can actually make it work well unlike Android.

One thing that didn't see mentioned about the case... Pill shaped camera hole. This either means finally an iPad with a flash or that dual camera thing that was going around a while back.

That's an odd statement. Especially since there is no such thing as an iPad Pro at this point, only an Everest-sized mountain of rumor and speculation.

For those of us invested in the iOS ecosystem (and OSX), it isn't so easy to simply switch to a different platform. There is software for iOS (and OSX) that doesn't have a Windows version. That requires purchasing and learning new software.

There is also world of difference in user experience between an iOS tablet and a Windows tablet.

Both Android and Windows platforms have tablets with active digitizers, iOS doesn't. You "really don't get the iPad Pro", whereas I really don't get why people are against providing options.

After reading some comments in this thread, I do get the iPad Pro a little more. But hey, I never said that Apple should not release it. When I say that "I don't get the iPad Pro", I don't mean, "hey Apple, don't release this tablet, and if you do, don't sell one to sracer". ;)

I just don't quite get how it will fit in my life.

LOL ok, thanks for the clarification. :) I apologize for projecting that motive into what you said.

Does anyone, even 1 single person believe that Apple will make this and just keep iOS exactly the same on it, perhaps just with a few more icons on screen?

I don't believe they would only do this.

Does 1 single person think that's all they will do ?

I'm not expecting OSX on it.
But I am expecting iOS, totally compatible, but with added features/enhancements that will take advantage of the large screen.

Two apps, side by side being the most obvious.

Putting two apps side by side is not enough to make iOS "professional". There are structural issues with the OS (namely related to file structure/workflow) that prevent serious content creation on the device and organization of files for work.

Apps also are by and large not as good as their OS X counterparts as well.

These two things will not change with the larger iPad.

I am so happy that the Mac is booming since that is keeping Apple invested in OS X and Mac Hardware. I love my iPad, but it is not a work device by and large. It's still mostly used for what it was originally intended for: consumption.

A stylus will suddenly be quite useful and people will wonder how they ever survived without one. Soon claims will be made that Apple invented the stylus and that Samsung copied them even though they had one before Apple. :D

there are still people who insist the world is 6,000 years old - still no reason to claim everyone on earth is an idiot.

sounds like you're just really bad at gauging general consensus.

Oh yes, I agree MUCH more is needed.

I'm not sure if iOS is a dead duck, and only going to last till tablets are fast enough to run OSX, or Apple thinks iOS should take over from OSX in the long term as Apple users in general are ones that, in the most part want things simple.

I hope this "Pro" device offers a lot more than the current iOS.

I just don't expect it will. Yet anyway.

I think it will just be iOS with some large screen Add Ons.

Problem is, they don't want to end up with 3 os's

Microsoft, if anything are doing it right.

One OS for everything. (with some UI differences) that is the only REAL thing that makes sense in the long term

I'll bet general consensus will say a stylus is great as soon as Apple includes one.

(This is rhetorical question): How come I don't give a flying leap when it comes to iPad rumors? But on the flip side, I go nutty for iPhone rumors. Craziest thing. :D

Yeah, that IS crazy. Not as crazy as that avatar of yours... but it's up there.

Please give me the touch sensitive palm rejection stylus on Ipad. Taking notes with my finger sucks & is painful for any longer length of time. I love Apple but it's the one reason I have purchased two Samsung products. Great stylus & notetaking apps. I have been an Apple user since Mac SE, it's not going to kill anyone to include it.

Pointless toy. Yet it commands huge amounts of developer devotion, that both Microsoft, and Google would kill for literally. Doesn't sound like a toy to me, and the millions of developers that develop some pretty powerful apps for this so called toy.

LOL, calm down, it was only a comment! Anyway, pointless toys sell well too. Actually, toys are huge business! But iPads always were largely useless for anything productive.

Now that the people with money and those who wanted to be pretentious or have the latest fashion accessory have exhausted themselves, iPad sales are falling. That very much speaks to the status of iPad as a toy.

You have such an appropriate name. It says it all for the value of your comments.:D

So you have lots to say about my name, but no points to counter my argument, because I'm right.

Let the stylus flame war begins :)

Agree, but a Pro would buy a Mac and a Pro stylus. The percentage of Pro iPad users is just too small, no matter how many videos of Pro iPad users Apple shows us.

NO BRO... The stylus would be for artist, and designers. That's why the name is Pro. There will probable be a huge push for Pro apps, especially for artists and designers. IOS already has some of the best artists and designer apps out there.

In all honestly, the stylus has been a kind of a frekin waist on the Galaxy tabs, because there are hardly if any developers developing artist apps to take advantage of there stylus.

----------

A recent phone, phablet and tablet with a stylus … yes. The styles per se, no

I wasn't aware Samsung invented the stylus.

----------

Ok, I give that to you.

You speak ony for yourself, many iPad users would love a stylus

----------

I never liked large screen smarphones, not even today. You misread me.

Once upon a time you hated large-screen smart phones. Good thing Apple didn't take your advice.

----------

Wacom is for Pro users on a Mac, I'm talking about a Pro user on an iPad with an Apple Stylus.

Pro users should use Wacom + Mac

Nah. Just people on messageboards. Wacom has been selling tons of styluses to Apple users for a good, long while now.
