Judging by the Apple TV release, probably not. You will most likely either be able to order online for delivery, or just expect to go into the store Friday.
I think the good news is, given the price, this won't be a product tons of people are lining up for. It's a lot more niche than an iPhone or even regular iPad.
Thank you!On release day just order for in store pickup. I did that for the Apple TV, was in and out in 20 minutes.
Is there anyway we can just purchase it online, and then "return" it in store and purchase again using Apple Pay in the store? I need to do that to get Discover 22% cash back
Couldn't you just buy it on-line with the Apple Store app, using Apple Pay? Then you could either have it sent to you or pick it up at the store. No need to return it and repurchase. Is there anyway we can just purchase it online, and then "return" it in store and purchase again using Apple Pay in the store? The catch is that the Apple Pay payment needs to be an in-store tap. When you use this method do they have you tap Apple Pay in the store or do they use the information from the order to charge you?Couldn't you just buy it on-line with the Apple Store app, using Apple Pay? I've used Apple Pay in-app on the Apple Store several times --no need to tap in the store. Most recently I bought the ATV 4 that way.The catch is that the Apple Pay payment needs to be an in-store tap. Weird. Why would Discover work differently than other cards? How do they even know? The discover card does not work for in app Apple Pay purchases. It only works for in person purchases.
It works, what they mean to say is that the Discover 10% cash back only applies to in-store Apple Pay purchases. I'm not sure how they know what is and isn't in-store, but it wouldn't be hard for Apple and other retailers to provide that info with each transaction.Weird. Ah! So it works but you don't get the special promo on line. 22% is no small change!we are not talking about Discover card in general. there is a specific promotion with Discover card used with IN STORE apple pay where u get 22% cashback.
But there are people lining up already though.Judging by the Apple TV release, probably not. You will most likely either be able to order online for delivery, or just expect to go into the store Friday.

I can't see how the restriction benefits Discover marketing, but I guess that's my limited thinking.

Will it be possible to pre-order the iPad Pro for pickup at an Apple Store?
(has that been possible in previous pre-orders?)
