I just got off the phone with Apple, the gentleman that I spoke with was very polite. He did look up the serial number for me but informed me that it had not been registered. He also informed me that if I could give him the person's name (which I have since they paid for it with PayPal) that he could tell me if they are the person who it's registered with, once it becomes registered. So that's VERY helpful, because if the buyer is scamming me, I may be able to verify it.

I don't think that's correct. I had this exact same thing happen to me a few months ago with a cheap $20 printer that I had from a few years back. eBay refunded the money to the buyer but since I had already transferred the funds to my bank account eBay sent me daily notices saying that if I didn't pay them the money within 1 week they would send it to a collection agency.
I do nt understand how you donthave a tracking number. If you sent it priority mail isn't that tracking number on your receipt or the green tag attached to the label you filled out? And if you used ebay's print shipping label it should automatically produces tracking number. I'm sorry I just don't understand.

I know. I made a mistake, I'm pretty sure I mentioned that already several times.
The Post Office was closed for the day, except for the Automated Postage Machine, which is open 24/7. The buyer was being impatient and sent me an email requesting it be sent out on the 14th, even though the auction ended on the 13th. So me, being naive, thought it would be fine to just send it.
Again, it is possible that it was stolen, or simply hasn't been delivered yet. In either of those cases Delivery Confirmation wouldn't have made a difference.
This thread is all kind of bad decisions.
If need be send a random envelope to this address and get a signature confirmation on it. He will have no idea what it is but he will of signed for it. Give that tracking number to paypal and you may be able to win the case. Assuming you think your being defrauded.
No other ideas right now.
No, tracking numbers aren't included with Priority Mail if you purchase the postage at the Post Office. Many people I've spoken with seem to think they are, but they aren't. It's an extra charge. Again, I'm aware of the mistake I made.
Oh one more thing where did you send it to and from where postoffice has been slow last year and more I live in a Military Base and mail seems to be later here before I lived in MI and up there mail took forever
I've sold quite a few of my used electronics, Apple included, and if you print your shipping label through paypal, the Delivery confirmation IS FREE, and Signature Confirmation is a cheap 1.75-2.00 dollars, ALWAYS, always needed for expensive items to be covered under paypal/ebay seller protections.
Yes, I'm aware of that now. I haven't sold anything on eBay for awhile and wasn't aware of most of the changes eBay and Paypal have made over the past few years.
So I'm guessing you got the iPad on release day since it's only been out a little over a week. Did your wife lose her job the very next day or did you buy it for the sole purpose of selling it for a $100-$200 profit on eBay?

Yes, we got it on release day, and we bought it with the sole purpose of selling it for some extra money. I would love to keep it, but times are tough, you gotta do what you gotta do!
Ah I see, well I'm sorry for your ordeal, but FYI, the free tracking/delivery conf. has been going on at least for the last 3-4 years I'm fairly sure.
