It's not a defect .....it does happen when you use enough pressure on any tablet. Go try it on an older iPad , Samsung tablet , HTC, Motorola or whoever else. Take these "evidence" threads with a grain of salt. While yes some might have an issue people want to take it to the extreme . Under normal use conditions which involves a slight push down of your finger on the screen this does NOT happen at all. My Samsung galaxy tab s 10.5 I could do it if I pushed hard enough but I can't with normal use. There's no need for video

Of course its a defect.
Any other iPad exhibit this issue? NO.
Any threads about this prior to the Air 2? None that I have seen.

Here you go. I'm hoping mine is the exception as far as how little effort is needed.

That video clearly shows a defect. Perhaps not all units show it but its a defect nevertheless.

I suspect its been fixed in production and that is why some see it and some don't.

Take your iPads back and make them open one after the other until you get to a unit that works … or …

Return it and wait a few months.

If you keep it with the problem you are just being ridiculous.

Hopefully, someone without the issue can come and prove this isn't a wide spread issue.

The only thing that will prove is that there is someone without an issue that wants to post a video.

Neither prove ANYTHING about how "widespread" the issue is.

If yours has the "issue", return it. Get another one. If they "all" have the issue, then you might want to consider an Air 1 while apple "fixes" the issue in the Air 3.

We now are almost split 50/50 of people saying the screen distorts when you hold it and or push a little on the back and it is perfect no issues.

So far we've had a few videos and a couple of pictures showing the defect

I was wondering for the other people who are saying their iPads are perfect, can you post a video of it NOT distorting?

That way we have evidence that it isn't ALL iPad Air 2 that are affected and may be a bad batch.

50/50? Wow, you are good. Perhaps you should work at the next elections.

I can reproduce this. Pressing pretty hard though but I will not be doing so during my everyday use.

What problem could arise in the future because of this? Will the display distort down the road with less pressure being applied?

I'm curious what week your iPad has been made and if you have this problem. And it seems like that the LTE versions do have this problem.

Maybe it's good to make a list:

Version (LTE or Wi-Fi):
Answer (Yes or No):

A question. Is there anyone having the issue NOT pressing it hard? How in the world was this even detected? Is pressing hard the norm for the way that person uses an IPad?

I am sure if you press hard enough the Air 2 will also bend.

Anyone see the distortion from the YouTube video where the Air 2 was bent in half? That was distortion.

Why do some enjoy finding anything possibly wrong with you device rather than just use it the way it was designed to be used. It is almost like you hate the Corp Apple but still buy their products!

I hoped mine didn't have the issue, so I made a video. I watched the video of someone walking and showing the lcd puddle. I opened up the Notes app, and walked around.

Unless I put pressure on the back, the walking with it in my right hand didn't have any effect on the screen. I had to specifically put a little more pressure on the back while holding it, whether I was walking or standing still.

That's the thing. All the videos are about the issue. Others are coming in saying there isn't an issue, but the only video proof I have is like the post above where someone is just holding an iPad and the mere bouncing of walking around makes this happen.

That's not even any pressure at all.

There isn't any video of anyone walking in this way and not have it happen.

Hopefully, someone without the issue can come and prove this isn't a wide spread issue.

I have seen it on mine when I press hard on the back. But walking, I really don't see it? You guys judge...

I wish I knew how to embed the freaking video.

Um so you're saying if I pick up my tablet and bend it, it will bend?

Brilliant. While you're nabbing apple on this "Defect" I just noticed that if I piss on my Samsung TV (just a little bit, mind you!) it stops working! Let's make a thread about that!

I didn't find the issue, it found me. The first time I picked the thing up

Yeah. More like 99.99/.01

I got my Air 2 swapped out for a different issue, but I haven't had the distortion issue on either iPad. Some odds there.

Unless you consider holding the iPad in one hand and pressing the back of the screen with the other with medium force a problem.

Is this the new trend, an apology thread for every issue thread?

You can think of this discovery as finding the Air 2's g-spot so it doesn't bother you as much.
