Not I, I just bought my 2.2 SR MBP in October. But post here if you got one and which one you got! :D

Just bought the new Penryn MBP 2.4 with full Apple care for £1160 using my student discount.

My university gave me £390 to put towards a new laptop and I have sold my Blackbook for £700

nice upgrade for £70 :)

Nice one, I'm along those similar lines except I don't have anything to sell so I'm just getting a new blackbook.

Hmmmmm...Those are the same specs as my Macbook...and it cost me $1400

quick question. I bought a 2.2macbook last week and installed some 2GB pc5300memory sticks and a 250GB sata hard drive. I have everything working on it now and was wondering when my new macbook comes can I just swap out the memory and hard drive and have everything work the same or do I need to restore due to it being a new processor??? I know if there were a PC I'd have to but was wondering if this is do-able with a mac.

In general, you shouldn't use a previous version of OS X with a brand new product, as there may be drivers that were not present in the previous version. If you have 10.5.2 running on your macbook right now, you should be fine to swap that into the new one. The RAM is certainly not a problem.

The smart thing to do would be to wait for a rebate but.. i am not a smart man.

Drove down to delaware (no tax!) and picked up my $1999 MBP an hour ago. Currently going through the migration process as i type this from my POS windows machine.

happy owner of a new penryn mbp

15" matte screen
2.5Ghz Proc
4GB Ram (getting it from 3rd party soon)
250GB HD
remote control

1st mac for me. it's gonna replace a dell inspiron 1420 p.o.s.

can't wait to get it, sometime bet march 3rd and 6th.

I got mine, but...

I've had it (15" MBP) for about 4 hours and loving it, except I'm having an issue where the screen freezes. I have to close the computer shut, wait a second and then re-open it. Then it's fine again. It's happened 3 times already. Still, it's A BIT faster than my old PowerBook G4;)

I couldn't help myself and sprung for the 15" 2.6GHz. Frankly, I'm not sure if waiting for the updates or waiting for it to ship to my door is gonna be worse.

And your MacBook is plastic, has nearly the same footprint as the MacBook Pro while having a considerably smaller screen, no video card, no light up keys or ambient light sensor, no firewire 800, no expansion slot, no multi-touch track pad, no LED backlight... hmm.

returned my MBP purchased on 2/15/ for a new MBP

Returned by 2.2 SR MBP i purchased on 2/15. No questions asked. I ordered a stock 2.4 Penryn Macbook Pro with Applecare. Just checked the status and it is prepared for shipment. Should have it by early next week. The 2.2 was my first mac. Couldn't resist the extra 128 of vram, extra 80gigs of harddrive space, and multitouch.

Can't wait for my new MBP to arrive!
