Not impressed :\

Settings:
Brightness ~ 55% with auto on
Wifi: off
3G/reception: uninterrupted
Notifications: on
Location services: on, but I close out the apps that use them right after
Mail: 2 Push accounts, manual fetch

Could it be the dual Push accounts? I've only been using it for about 1.5 hours of calls, no music, no Pandora, no GPS, light Safari, Yelp and NY Times.

By the way, what is the Apple store exchange policy?

Quite happy with my battery life:
50% brightness (with auto on)
Wifi the whole time
Done quite a lot of texting
Some calls
Web browsing, using some apps (eBay, Twitter...etc)
Been gaming quite a bit today too.

Seems to hold up quite well. (Oh I haven't had my phone for that long, hence the call time being small lol)

It can't reach 24 hours. Is this average?

3g/wifi on
no push
fetch manual
browsing web
light light texting
two hours of ipod
drop7 game

I've discharged and fully charged twice now.

That's similar to how my first phone behaved and I received a replacement so you can always check out a replacement if you have an Apple Store near you if it's still under warranty.

It's still under warranty but so are you saying I should get it replaced because it's below average? I already got it replaced three times before trying to get a camera that didn't suck and buttons that weren't loose :|

My battery sucks! Should I take it in?

Mine seems really bad...

Ive been texting on and off since I turned the phone on this morning, about 45 minutes worth of phone calls, and about 3 hours of light gaming and some internet browsing.

Should I be worried?

1 Account Gmail being pushed, brightness at about 30%, Location ON, WIFI, Bluetooth and push notifications all off

spotlight and auto brightness

i was quite disappointed with my batt life when i first got the phone. but read a few forums and had some tips that worked for me.

firstly, under spotlight searches, untick ALL the categories (unsure why this helps but it did the trick)

second, turn off the auto brightness and set brightness to about 40%

then drain the battery and charge it up again.

i had about 6 hours usage and 15 hours standby before i tried this,

now i can get at least 7 hours usage and 2 days standby.

hope this helps

Yay my battery's being nice lately. This is jailbroken with infolock and a theme with winterboard, so I'm surprised really.

Battery on this phone is absolutely amazing. My Samsung Captivate was getting about 14 hours average with standby, and only about 4 hours actual usage. I'd have to baby it too, little web browsing and app usage.

My iPhone 4 yesterday managed to get 32 hours standby, 8 hours usage with moderate web browsing, Youtube videos, a plethora of games, lots of texting, iPod for about an hour, some photos, etc etc.

iPhone is getting right up there with BB IMO

I think im gonna have to let this phone drain itself and die then fully charge it before making any assumptions but it seems somewhat bad currently but ive only been using the phone for a day now..

52min usage, 5h 13min standby im at 91%

3G on, wifi is on but not connected to anything, brightness was at about 70% i lowered it no to 50%, mainly txting, downloaded 1 thing off cydia. Also have gmail account being pushed.

Unless I'm mistaken you're looking at almost 10 hours of usage, that seems pretty good to me.

On my first 100% to 1% I had 7 hours and 20ish minutes. Not bad. I gotta say I'm happier with the iPhone 4 than the 3GS for sure.

75% Brightness
Notifications off
bluetooth off
Location services off
WIFI on
3G on
1 mail account on 30 minutes fetch
Jailbroken w/ QuickReply SMS, Lockinfo, Five Icon Dock, Five Icon Switcher, SBSettings

Usage: Mostly browsing Safari, texting, minimal call time, also ~1.5-2hrs of podcast streaming via itunes.

this is straight out of the Apple iPhone spec page. I feel like a lot of us here have a legitimate reason to go to the nearest apple store and get a replacement:

So right now im at 48% and this involved heavy txting all day. I did do a fair amount of SSH in order to change my sounds.. rebooting. Ran on 3G most of the day, at home i also had wifi connected (wifi stayed on all day *searching*), 1 PUSH gmail account, Facebook push.. brightness 50%

Usage: 4h 12min
Stand by: 13h 50min

Batt left 48%

this is straight out of the Apple iPhone spec page. I feel like a lot of us here have a legitimate reason to go to the nearest apple store and get a replacement:

Maybe for some, but not for the majority of users. What is your basis for this? The fact that apple claims that one can get 300 hours of stand by time? That is up to, and it doesn't promise anything. Also, you overlooked one important fact to the claim and picture you are showing. Next to Power and Battery there is a number 2 which reads:

2. All battery claims depend on network configuration and many other factors; actual results will vary. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced by an Apple service provider. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information. For more details of iPhone performance tests for talk time, standby time, Internet use over 3G, Internet use over Wi-Fi, video playback, and audio playback, see www.apple.com/iphone/battery.html.

So, it really depends on your configuration, i.e., brightness, gaming, internet usage, etc. Not everyone is going to have the same result.

Settings:
Brightness around 45%
Wifi Off
3G On
Notifications On for Aim

Majority of today was straight 3G usage.

Percentage: 45% Usage: 4 Hours

Location off
Notifications off
Brightness 50% with Auto-Brightness on
3G on
wifi on for about 2 hours while I listened to pandora
played games and downloaded 3 new apps
bunch of other stuff
