After being with this "new" phone for a few weeks (I drowned my 1st i4), I have realized that the battery seems to preform less then my previous one did. Originally I upgraded from a 3G to i4 and noticed a tremendous difference in battery life. But after getting a replacement from apple (for the waterlogged i4) I have seemed to notice this battery isn't quite up to par with the other one. (Replacement phone is a 5K serial).

Includes:
WiFi* -- Connected *when available*
100% Brightness
Mail: PUSH -- 15 Min Fetch
Notifications: Facebook
1/2 day of Edge (Updating Facebook statuses, Mild SMS)
1/2 day of 3G (Very Mild web browsing, no more then 30 mins.)

(These settings are the same which I had on my 3G and previous i4)

Look okay? I've been tempted to go to the Apple store, but I think I might be overreacting.

Well, your brightness IS at 100%. I'm not surprised at the battery life result.

This seems to be the right place for this

I think I have a bad battery :(

Location on
Notifications off
Brightness 50% with Auto-Brightness off
3G on
Wifi off
Bluetooth off
Push/Fetch off (manual)

Is this normal?
Thanks guys.

Mine - Single Charge
Usage: 7 Hours, 19 Minutes
Standby: 2 Days, 2 Hours
Remaining battery: 1%
wifi and 3G on only when needed, push off, location off, e-mail fetch 15min

Usage: 8 Hours, 1 Minute
Standby: 3 Days, 10 Hours
Remaining battery: 1%
Was this with no charges during the test? I think its quite impossible. If you didn't charged, you must have done a quite soft usage in those 8 hours.

Does your wall charger makes a little noise while charging the iphone 4 ? Mine does...

I find it weird that a lot of people have extremely long battery life with almost every feature on and high brightness. It seems that most of the people here listen to music for really long periods of time in order to increase their usage time.

I agree not heavy usages.

Rk1991,why would anyone just play music to get long usage time?

What benefit does that give them?

I have no clue maybe to show off how good their battery is to them on threads like this. Some people have a lot of spare time.

Yesterday purchased my iPhone 4, connected it with iTunes and while connecting I fully charged the battery. Was just discovering the phone (3g, brightness, apps etc.). I live in Europe, here it's evening. Didn't use the Phone from the morning till early afternoon. Then played with it again. So my battery is just empty, now do a full charge again to complete the calibrate.

So these are my settings and further (remember, had 3g a lot on while I didn't need it, so that is a battery eater, remember that):
Brightness: (played with it, had it long time 50%, then went to 25-30%, both with auto brightness)
3G: Had it on till 50%, remember I was at home. (so already used but just switched 3G off)
Location Services: Off
Notifications: off
Mail: No mail
WiFi: Had it on while I actually didn't need it, so next time I will switch it of when not needed.

Usage: 6 hours, 0 minutes
Standby: 23 hours, 12 minutes
Battery at 1%

Still questions:
Last night, I had 3G turned on (stupid of cours, not doing anymore), and my battery drained a couple percent. Do you guys have this too? Is it better to just turn WiFi and 3G off at night?

When I use WiFi, I have mobile data off. Is this a must, or not, because if I use WiFi, does the mobile data still use some battery power?

Here is Mine. Does it look good ? No ipod usage. Only 3g(most of it) and wifi navigation, some Angry birds and other app.

I wish the mods would delete those kinds of posts. They don't really help to gauge what is normal. IMO, only surfing usage should be reported, since it's more of a battery drainer. Either that or gaming.

Usage: 5 hours, 0 minutes
Standby: 23 hours, 30 minutes
Battery at 46% (came from 100%):
- 30 minutes 3G web browsing.
- A couple of hours WiFi web browsing, used some news apps, weather app etc.
- Played games for around an hour (Flight Control, Geared, Doodle Jump)

Settings:
- 3G turned on when needed, WiFi turned on when needed.
- Screen brightness: 25-30 %, auto brightness on.
- Push off, location services off.

Overall, is this good? (2 day old iPhone 4)

Wow, I feel like my battery sucks. Well probably not for what I was doing, but compared to other phones I have. Used for the same reasons (Blackberry 9700; always had push, BBM constantly, email, internet, Facebook- charged once every 2 nights).

Brightness: 45%
3G: on
Wi-Fi: on where available (usually switch it off when I leave the house)
Bluetooth: on (for using handsfree in the car)
Location: on (flixster, maps, foursquare)
Notifications: facebook, whatsapp
E-mail: push (gmail exchange)

Texting, a few phone calls, some browsing, and a game or two. No iPod.

My latest 2-day-ish stat.

3G/Data On
Wi-Fi always on with no ask to join (rarely use 3G data)
BT off
Notifications Off (Never been reliable for me)
Screen at 40% brightness with auto brightness off
Hourly email fetching for 3 accounts (don't get much mail though)
Push contacts/calendar
Location On

Calls here and there incl skype, about 50-70 texts, Facebook and Twitter apps plus light Safari, Maps and iPod use (varying bit rates/formats). Mostly light usage. Not bad...certainly better than my 3GS.

Batt died as soon as i took this screenshot.

Woot. Love my i4 battery!

I'm getting really pisse of my iPhone has no where near that kinda stats.. Today I manged about 12hour standby with about 2:30h usage and most of that usage was maps to navigate around this city.. But not constant 2:30h of maps..

I'm really pissed about this I wish the 4.1jb would come out so I can restore...

hi everyone, its good to be here..

Just got my Iphone Sunday, i'm a bit worried about my battery life as well. Well i haven't used much but i used to chrge my previous phone every 5 days... 3g and Wi-fi is only on when i need it. Brightness is 50%

Or am I being paranoid?

If you're keeping 3G and WiFi off then I'd say that's a bit low but not catastrophic.

Is this your first charge on the phone? It's possible that the battery readout isn't well calibrated yet. Apple advises users to run the phone right down until it auto switches off and then recharge it to 100% again and one of the reasons is so that the battery level monitoring circuitry can calibrate itself to your actual battery; Apple actually advises that this be done once a month but that's probably overkill but it should certainly be done soon after purchase.

Because of the above it's possible that the 86% you're seeing isn't accurate at this point so I wouldn't panic just yet.

P.S. I can't believe that user name wasn't taken before now!

You also have to consider standby time. Even when iPhone is in sleep mode there is usage but not much.

If your standby time was let's say 2 hours'ish then different story.
