I absolutely love this idea and the machine to install it, for me it was usually a problem installing screen protectors as I could never leave the screen protector completeley bubble free so this is an awesome idea.
Still I think I would not use it mainly because of two reasons:
- Tempered glass screen protectors, I like the feel of using tempered glass protector and installing those is really really easy, I have never encountered any type of problem installing them, I also feel that they protect the screen better than plastic protectors.
- Second thing is price, I feel ripped off by belkin prices, on amazon I can buy the same protector from other brand and pay no more than 10 dollars, I don't feel there's a quality difference that justifies paying that much more.
I would normally agree with you, especially on price but this thing is PRECISE, I think if they continue to offer this service with upcoming iPhones then they have a customer for life.

Great concept and idea. The problem is the type of screen protector they are using. Unless it's changed; the Belkin one I bought from the Apple Store in September for my 6S wasn't really that great. It scratched up very easily.

The ones they sell in the store and these are not the same.

Had a glass protector fitted today in the UK. They said it was the same as the protectors as they sold, they just came in different packaging, because of the system.

I was told otherwise, but I did not look so I could've been misinformed.

The price was the same as the protector £19.95, it was the glass called invisiglass, i think. I think they also do a plastic one which is cheaper.

Not to be a jerk..maybe someone who knows more can enlighten me..

I've gotten Anker glass protectors from Amazon for $2 at times on sale. What's the benefit of this versus the Anker?

Aside paying someone for a "flawless" installation?

The "flawless installation" for me, I am ocd and it is absolutely perfect. Also this is the thinnest glass protector I've used, I honestly can't stand the way thicker glass protectors make the home button feel.

so it is the glass one? the 9H tempered screen protector the one that shatters and saves your phone if it drops a certain way?

That's fair.

Id be the guy asking for a re-do if there was a piece of lint or a bubble for $38 though lol

From what I understand they will reapply a new one if there are any flaws... The way the application process works I don't see any way for dust to ruin the install.
Trust me I'm the same way.. I was hesitant to let someone else apply a protector on my phone but an Apple employee showed me his phone and I was sold.

Do you know how thin is the screen protector? That would actually interest me but right now I have the TechArmor .2 mm Tempered Glass screen protector and it´s pretty good-

Has anyone asked during the installation if Apple will reinstall a warranty replacement?

First rep I asked told me they just pull them off the wall. I knew that wasn't right. Second rep said they were different from the wall packages but didn't offer any warranty or reapply from Apple. He had one on his phone and it was already pealing up at the top speaker. Fine for most but too OCD for me.

The reps phone I saw was perfect, mine is still perfect 48 hours later, will update if that changes but don't anticipate it.

They are available in the UK now, my local store confirmed the prices either £19 or £25 depending on which screen protector you opt for.

My new Godosmith IceMax was giving me fit problems with the bumper I use and I've been having problems with all the non e2e SP's I've used lately.

I thought I'd give Apple/Belkin a try. I figured if the machine can't do it then it won't happen.
It went on without issue.
It's by far the thinnest SP I've used. The only thing negative I have to say about it is that the edges are not beveled. I assume that's because it's so thin.

So is thin bad? Will it protect the screen in a drop like thicker ones would?
Personally I like thin.
Also my opinion on protection is that non edge to edge glass screen protectors do little in real world drop protection. Most likely the phone will hit a corner and if that happens the corner glass that's not covered will break.

As far as straight on hit protection like the hammer test you always see, I don't think that's a very likely type of risk.

The only reason I have always used glass screen protectors is to guard against scratches (especially micro scratches).
