Hi Gary, when you by an iphone on PAYG. is this like buying it without a contract?
can I buy a phone on PAYG, probably pay more for it if its not subsidized. and then unlock it for another carrier?

Yep that's it, you don't need to give any details to o2 or set up anything. (well at least i didn't) And i have an o2 Simplicity contract sim that i use in it now. When the unlock becomes available you will be able to use it on any UK carrier except 3 mobile.

Thanks... I wasn't aware. I have to go to AT&T and get it activated/swapped with my wife's phone... I used her upgrade eligibility to buy it at the full discount.

Just Got My iPhone 3G S

picked it up about 30 minutes ago and come home to find that it wont charge through my new macbook pro! Im like WTF, why wouldnt it not charge its saying on the screen "Charging isn't Supported by this device". Is it me or everyone??

Mines was doing that to. I just unplugged the USB from the computer and hooked it back up and it charged fine.
